This is not the Ritz. On the other hand, Green River is not New York. Or even Cleveland. Yes, the place could use some updating, towels could be fluffier, breakfast could be more lavish. But the room and bathroom were clean, and staff were friendly and good-natured. Oh yes, and it's pet friendly, too. We're unlikely to return to Green River, but if we do, we'll probably come back.

The interior apparently has been recently renovated. Everything was clean and fresh We had an accessible room and (yea!!) the toilet was high. I like the location better than the other motels we saw driving around Super 8 is closest to I-70 with a gas station in the same driveway but away from the bustle of the town.
We used the Guest Directory in the room to find nearby short adventures. We went to Crystal Geyser. It was lovely and although most of the road was dirt it was easily accessible with a Honda Odyssey.
LaVeracruzana was recommended for authentic Mexican food but it was closed on Sunday night. We ate at Tamarisk overlooking the river. Food was tasty, hot and service was enthusiastic and quick.

The toilet was dirty. There was not even a plastic bag for dirty clothes in the room. The handle on the side door to the property was broken. Worst of all was the staff's demeanor. I never did get a smile out of them. My husband is diabetic and a peritoneal dialysis patient. That means we have to haul a lot of stuff with us when we travel. Because of the overnight temperature, I had to bring all his boxes of dialysis fluid from our vehicle into the hotel room for the night. As I was struggling trying to get a completely full luggage cart through the double front door, just a few feet from the reception desk, the two women behind the desk--who were not on the phone or helping other guests--just stood there and watched me. Neither of them even offered to hold the door open, let alone help me. They did exactly the same thing--nothing--as I struggled with my second load.
