Lingling has a great thing going here with the food but needs to work on the logistics of running a well oiled machine. The first time we went it was a Thursday night and only about 25% of tables were full. Service was quick, of course, as we were seated right away. Last night, a Friday night, there was about a 20 minute wait with all tables and sushi bar full with about 25 people waiting to be seated. It was chaos when you first walked in. No organization because the entry is so small and it was freezing outside, so everyone crammed into a non defined space between the door and hostess stand (the hostess was rarely there). They add you to the wait list, if you go up and ask to be added, no one knew who had already been added and who was just waiting for their table. It was a mess. Then as they called names, many people were outside because it was so crowded and, at first, didn't even call out names outside. They need to get some kind of pager system like Parkstone next door has, especially when it gets to be warmer weather and people will wait outside.
The Ben and Chase roll, the first time was excellent. Last night the portion was wrong. There was very little salmon and too big of a percentage of avocado and pineapple. The first time it was perfect. Disappointing.
The Teriyaki beef was excellent. We had it medium well and it was really tender. Lots of fresh grilled veggies with it.
Our waiter was EXCELLENT. Younger, slender guy with brown hair working the atrium area at the front with all the windows.
Service was 5 stars with our waiter.
2 Stars for front/hostess/check in service. This needs improvement.
Poor for special occasions because I think, based on last night, they would not be able to handle large groups without difficulty.
