thai food is our favorite, so i think we can evaluate thai restaurants pretty well. we stopped here while driving from slc to st george. the location is right off i-15, which is convenient for a meal while on a road trip. i was surprised at how nice the decor was ( i did not expect much since it was within a shopping mall complex --just outside the major mall, in their own building with ample parking space). the wait staff were attentive and helpful. thai siam has quite an extensive menu. we were there at lunch time, so we each tried a combo lunch, which allowed us to try 4 dishes. what a deal---for $8 each we had a small eggroll, a double scoop of jasmine rice and 2 entrees. because we wanted to sample more dishes, we also ordered an order of a tofu and vegetable stir fry. 2 of the other dishes were stir fries as well ( one with ginger curry paste, the other with garlic and black pepper). we also had a basil dish and a coconut based curry. the stir fries were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crunch left in the vegetables.we ordered medium spiciness and it was good, though i think i'd take it up a notch next time. the entrees are generally $7 to $8 unless it is fish or seafood, which are $12. they also have family size servings -- these must be huge, since the individual servings are very generous. we brought our left-overs home and had enough for a full lunch for 2. quantity alone is not a good way to judge food ----the taste was superb. i'm glad we discovered thai siam. it will be a regular stop for us when we are in northern utah.
