I play this course several times a year. It is a true championship set up and much better designed than any other public course in the area.
Pros: great design, great views and requires every shot in the book.
Cons: staff act as if you are inconveniencing them when you come in. The greens are slower than any other course in the valley, really slow.. they don't manage pace of play. When this course was built Mike Wier played here. It has gone down hill a long way. I think what really tells the story is their men's league has about 20-30 players in the heart of Draper.. It's to bad the pro and grounds crew doesn't take that more personally. If they turned over the staff the place could be world class.

This course is situated along side of South Mountain in Salt Lake County. As such, it presents a variety of holes with twists and turns bending up hills and down. Even holes that are straight-away will have fun hills and bunkers along the fairways.

Even when I score high, I've never had a bad day of golf at South Mountain.

Narrow and challenging holes, but great fun to play. I just plan to lose some balls and take it in stride. A full view of the Salt Lake Valley and a lot of elevation change makes this a great course even if you're not a great golfer!

This is one of the few courses in Utah that play like good courses outside of Utah. The views are spectacular!! Especially in the fall.

It defines a mountain course. Make sure you play the correct tee box according to handicap otherwise it is very challenging. I prefer level ground or uphill lies to hit from so I've found, as a right handed player, that playing the right side of the fairway gave me more confident aproach shots into the fast and true greens because the fairways "funnel" on bothsides.

The food is good and the play wasnt slow.

This course advertises: "Stretching more than 7,080 yards and surrounded by pristine mountain scenery, this 18-hole, par-72 golf course offers a challenging round for players of all skill levels."
While this is true, what we found was obnoxious kids running the golf shop with very little training, poor green conditions and very slow play with no marshalls on the course. The club house staff put a group of six in front of us with 2 adults and four small kids. This group was beginners and did not seem to know about "playing through" and a course marshall could have facilitated this. When we ask in the club house afterwards if it was normal course policy to send out sixsomes, we were told if we did not like it, we did not have to come back. Well, we won't. Salt Lake County tax dollars at work????
