“Beautiful Views and Exceptional Customer Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2014

Stayed here a few weeks ago with friends. We booked 2 view rooms on the first floor. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. Keurig coffee makers with Starbucks coffee, assortment of teas, and hot milk chocolate for the kids - was a HUGE win. Patios were nice with 2 chairs and a table. They could have used some sweeping or vacuuming, but the views from them were incredible. Wifi and cell service were spotty during a storm when we first arrived, but after the weather cleared, all was fine. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

The reason I love this place and the people who work there: My daughter left her favorite toy in the bed and I didn't see it. She has never slept without it. It was waiting for her in her crib when she came home from the hospital 10 years ago. We didn't realize it was gone until 10 pm the night we got home. My prior experiences (all of them) when I've left things behind in a hotel room is they are gone forever. After a restless night's sleep (read: none whatsoever), I called the lodge the next morning. They had the toy and they mailed it to me. The front desk said they'd probably get it in the mail in a day or two. It arrived the next day.

The great thing about this place is the people. They know guests are hauling in an unusually large amount of things because we are all headed to the water. While it is easy to leave something behind, it is wonderful to know that the staff still cares about you after checkout.

Bed was good and comfortable.
We had an east facing room with no view but you can go in the restaurant to enjoy the sunset.
No bar soap or extras were provided. Shampoo and soap were in a shower dispenser that was not labeled.
We stayed prior to a houseboat trip and after the trip in a different room. Both rooms had the same problem with no labeling on the shower dispenser. Really? Sheesh!
Staff were really nice and helpful.
I feel the room is overpriced for what you get.

I was pleasantly surprised at this lodge. I wasn't expecting it to be as nice as it turned out to be. It looks older and could use some touch up but other than that it was comfortable. The air conditioner worked well which was a nice plus after being on the lake as hot as it was when we were there. We had a nice beautiful view of the lake. The restaurant provided fast service and good food at a reasonable price. Would recommend this lodge and restaurant.

Only place to stay in Bullfrog--they gotcha there! Too few towels, very tired carpet, decor. Spotty wi-fi and soap dispensers in shower not labeled!? Bed was comfortable and ac worked, but still disappointing, especially for the high price! Restaurant food was average or less for dinner ( although our server Ty was great), breakfast was poor both days. Too bad there is not any alternative in Bullfrog :-(

I have seen a few other reviews saying the same. The room furnishings are pretty tired and dated. The room is sparses furnished for the saize of the room. The restuarant was ok. The staff were friendly. It just needs a big maekover. And yes we all had problems with the keys as well.

Stayed here for one night and not impressed. Hotel dated and the food pretty poor. They do a packed lunch for $16 which was really poor value. I did not really get this place, the bar was the only thing that I thought that was ok. The bar staff were really helpful and I would recommend them. The rooms are nice but they need soundproofed. we had a real problem with the room keys I think we eventually had 8. We only strayed one night!

1) The key to your room won't work. Get someone from the front desk to help you. She is already down the hall helping another guest with the same problem.
2) No furniture in your room but the bed. Space for it, but no couch or chair. Eat your pizza on the bed.
3) Housekeeping is still in training. Exchange students from Eastern Europe. Get towels and soap from the front desk. Nuts! Now you're locked out of your room again.
4) Restaurant is out of burgers, bread, dinner rolls, french fries... What would you like; we suggest the special because that's what we have.
5) No Wi-Fi, period. Cell phone service is iffy. Think of it as "cold turkey" rehab from network addiction.
6) The ferry to Hall's Crossing was mechanically damaged by incompetent operators and has not run in 2014. It is a three hour drive around SR-95 to get to a place you can see from here. But they have cell phone service over there... no hotel, though.

The view is superlative, and Lake Powell is a phenomenal recreation experience. There simply is no place else to stay near Bullfrog Marina, so we will return. But this hotel charges way too much and doesn't deliver even the basics effectively. Camp, or rent a houseboat and sleep there. At least your room key will work that way.
