Foster's is no more. Sold to new owners and renamed Up Top Family Steakhouse. If you're looking for it, the signage just says Family Steakhouse (with the Foster's kind of painted over). A little confusing as we were looking for Foster's. When we visited there were not a lot customers for dinner which is too bad. The decor is clean and welcoming. The food was better than we had expected. The service, well more on that in a minute.
We ordered a ribeye for me and wife had beer battered shrimp. Both had fries. Total for the two of us (water only) was $38.17 and one of the cheaper dinners on our National Park trip. The steak was large (14 oz) and cooked perfectly to medium rare. The shrimp was good, not great (hey it's not near any ocean). Fries were plentiful and good. No bread was offered. None needed as the portions are large.
Now to the service. So as to not distract from the dining experience, the wait staff (or at let our waitress) could stand a little bit more training. We cringed a bit as she explained to the table behind us (obviously friends) that she was experiencing nose bleeds (not kidding) which explained the sniffling going on. Also heard the full story on how it runs in the family and other personal discussions. Not to mention she was invited to try one of the desserts she served the other couple and did. A little bit too informal and personal. Kind of took away from the dining experience which is why I rate this average as opposed to above average.
