“Perfect Place for Vacation”
Reviewed January 8, 2009

we were here 3rd week in Oct...great destination place for visiting Utah's state and national parks...we stayed in the 2 bedroom suite thru our time share...perfect place, the full kitchen, luxery baths with designer soaps and body lotions, soft king bed and double beds...
heat was from gas fireplaces in each bedroom and central heater in living area...tvs in each bedroom as well as dvd tv in living room...
as other posters said, it is dry dry dry...this whole area of Utah is dry so be prepared, not the resorts fault...under ground garage for parking with elevator up to all floors...the indoor pool, whirlpool area is awsome as well as the complete work out room...the staff is fantastic...they offer wireless web service for a fee but it is fast internet access...just use a good firewall while on the service...the town and resort pretty much closed at this time of year but we prepared our shopping list for Walmart in Cedar Breaks down the mountain...the only gripe is the mountain pass with 13% inclines and switchbacks to get up to Brians Head...still not the resorts problem...didnt eat anywhere while there, cooked everything in well supplied kitchen...this is a great place for a quiet relaxful fall get away..

the customer service at cedarbreaks is horrible. they are the only hotel up top of the mountain and they must think that is a reason to be rude. i stay there every year on the group annual ski trip and every year it gets worse. the bartenders are the worst..guy named kevin i think needs to learn to be nice to customers.
the security harrassed us for being loud whil playing cards in our room(4 people aged 30-50years old). then the next night the bartender said he heard we were toublemakers and would call his friend the sheriff if he wanted. not a nice greeting for tipping vacationers. we left and went to our rooms to enjoy wine in a happy environment, which was not to be found by employees there.

We're an older couple who visited during the October "shoulder season" when things are VERY quiet at Brian Head and some of the resort's facilities were operating on a limited schedule. Nevertheless, we found the Lodge very comfortable and the staff accomodating for our needs as we did our touring of Zion, Bryce, and the surrounding area.
Our "1-bedroom" was smallish but certainly adequate for a couple. The sitting room, with sofa-bed and a small dining table, was excellent for relaxing & reading or TV, but using it to sleep the max 4 people in the unit would have made things pretty crowded. Everything was clean and in good repair.
A mini-kitchen with cooktop, microwave and a full set of small appliances (including blender) was OK for light food prep chores, and the bathroom featured combo Jacuzzi tub-shower. The bedroom had a thermostatically controlled gas "fireplace" that felt good during the cool nights, but as there is no air conditioning, visits in July or August might get uncomfortable (we noted there was a portable fan).
The resort is composed of three buildings, two exclusively guest rooms and the third housing all facilities...a small convenience store, restaurant(s), indoor pool, two large hot tubs, steam room, exercise room, etc., plus a few more guest rooms. Having to walk exposed from the outlying buildings to and from the hot tubs/pool is somewhat inconvenient & could be a bit nippy in the winter but the facilities themselves are top-notch.
All in all, we felt it was an honestly priced resort and are comfortable giving it a "high average to above average" rating.

  • Liked — Quiet, comfortable, adequately equipped, good pool/hot tub/exercise facilities
  • Disliked — The chilly dash back to the room in damp bathing attire!

Wespent 2 nights at this hotel whist visiting Zion and Bryce Canyons. Beautifully decorated, food excellent and not over priced, spa is available with treatments at an affordable price, beautiful indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, rooms very well equiped with mini kitchen and real glasses, bath with whirlpool and the bar was friendly and comfortable serving food also.
All staff friendly and helpful if you want a couple of days to chill whilst visiting the las Vegas area this is the place to do it.

My husband and I are owners of the time share, Monarch Grand, which this location is part of their options. The location is awesome but we were very disappointed with the Junior 1 bedroom villa. It appeared that this room wasn't used in a while. The bedroom was FULL of dust. The overhead fan was thick with dust so was the lamp shades, the small window curtain and not to mention the bedroom was stuffy. I suffer from indoor allergies and it was so difficult to sleep because of the dust in the room and in the air. Not to mention I felt very itchy which was indicative that there was lots of dust mites on the bed. The kitchenette was in good order and so was the living room. The best feature of this place was the view from our window, the location, and ofcourse the food at the Cafe was very good but just wished there were more options for people who are vegetarians.

As tempertures are still in the high 90's and even 100's during September in Las Vegas, my husband and I wanted a little taste of fall and some cool mountian air away from the many city lights that abound in our Nevada home town. It was an easy 3 hour ride up to the Brian Head resort town.
We had never been there before so I wanted to make sure our quick overnight stay was a good one and paid a little extra for a separate bedroom, as I am prone to staying up later then my spouse and wanted to make sure I didnt disturb his sleep. We got to the Lodge around 1:45 pm but check in wasnt until 4 pm and we were told to go check out the town and come back around 3:30 to get our room. So, we got back in our car after a quick bite at the resort priced cafe', and took a ride up to the top of Brian Head Mountain. It was up a dirt rode and there were signs of weekend bikers everywhere. Im talking about mountain bikes, not motorcycles. The altitude is about 11,000 feet at the peak and it was a great view of the entire small town of Brian Head and surrounding area. That also includes a slight view of the Cedar Breaks National Park area. We then rode around the ski slope areas and looked at a variety of homes that were for sale in the area. As we aren't really skiers, but have lived in Maine, we imagined that it would be a great town for people who were into winter sports to come to, during that season. It was a lovely scene but it was time to go back to the hotel and get cozy. By then, couples (who seemed around our age, in their 50's and 60's) were checking in and we laughed that it seemed like a popular senior getaway and we fit right in. But we werent alone, as the biking crowd was in the hotel as well, so it wasnt all old geezers! I dont know if those people were on a return trip or not, but we found the entire place great enough to recommend to our friends and family after this stay. The comfortable living room had a fireplace as well as the spacious bedroom. There were 2 queen beds there with plenty of room for bags and closet space. As I found out later that evening, the beds were very soft and I easily fell asleep with the cool night air coming in from an open window.
I had wanted to pack a cooler with food, as the room I had reserved had it's own kitchen, but I went with my husband's insistance that we would just eat the food in town. Well, there really isnt much of a town and food was priced a bit high at the Lodge, although it was very tasty food and we did enjoy eating in the relaxing bar that evening. It wasn't really a busy bar scene, so we ate, played a couple of games of pool and just enjoyed each others company. We could have gone to the pool or spa- but decided to just go back to the room, get comfortable and eat some cheetos with some wine I had brought from home.
It really was like having your own little cozy apartment in the mountains rather than just a motel room. We loved it- even though the check out in the morning at 10am made us feel as if we were getting ejected much too soon!
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The setting was beautiful, even though there was no snow as of yet and the whole experience was about a 8 or 9 on a scale of 10. We came back to Vegas feeling renewed and that was what our overnight expedition was all about!

  • Liked — How comfortable the rooms were.
  • Disliked — The late check in and the early check out.

We have stayed at this property many times during the summer months, with mostly very positive results. This property uses rooms that are owned by individuals that are rented as part of the property.

Contact the property directly, because if you reserve online you will be charged a NON-Refundable service fee, even if you have a timely cancellation.

Parking in the garage is cramped and subject to first come - first served.

Upon check-in you will be offered a "Membership" to the on-site bar. Don't be suspicious, as it is part of the WEIRD Utah laws that regulate alcohol and taxes.

The rooms are moslty decorated the same with modern earth tone slate tile and neutral colors. Alarm clocks and televisions are in the bedroom and small living room. Box fans are provided to circulate air on hot days, as this property does not have air conditioners. Kitchenettes are fully stocked with most utinsels, microwave and toasters. Bath room have a jetted tub.

This property has always been used as a Good option for clean, quiet and comfotable lodging while in Brian Head. We always ask for a room in the main lodge or on the mountain side **** Don't stay in the lodge next to the road, or you will hear the Large trucks most of the early morning and afternoon.
