We have stayed at the Boulder Mountain Lodge a number of times. Each stay is peaceful and restoring. We especially enjoy having a room that overlooks the bird sanctuary. Everyone one is welcoming and helpful.

This hotel is in a beautiful area. Lots of hiking, fishing, exploring, or just enjoying the beautiful Highway 12 scenery. The hotel is in good shape and has a bit of a rustic feel to it. There are 3 restaurants on-site. 1 is basically a deli, 1 is basically your classic american food restaurant, and the 3rd is a fine dining restaurant. We ate at the Devil's Backbone grill (fine dining) and the food was excellent. My parents-in-law at the classic american food restaurant (I can't remember what it was called), and loved it. They ate there twice. The grounds are meticulously kept. There is a very large, well kept hot tub, and a common area in one of the lodges. The office has a bunch of outdoor games and toys available for visitors to use on their spacious grounds.

The rooms are fairly modern. We stayed in a ground floor room that had two queens, which are available to bring your pets to. We did not bring our dog but you could not detect any hint of animal hair, odor, or other pet-induce damage in our room. The beds were comfortable. If you've ever been to Moab, you will love this area because it has a lot of the scenery and things to do like Moab but none of the crowds.

We had planned to visit Boulder Mountain Lodge (and Hell's Backbone Grill) several times, only to have to cancel. However, this spring we were fortunate to finally take the jaw-dropping, georgous drive thru Escalante to Boulder, Utah. We were pleasantly surprised to find our room bordering on the duck pond was spacious and quiet and there was plenty of outdoor areas to walk our golden. The meals at Hell's Backbone Grill were delicious and I've been keeping busy cooking up many of the recipes in featured in their book "With A Measure Of Grace". Jen, it was nice to meet you and Biscuit - thanks for autographing my book!

We just got back from a weekend stay at the Boulder Mountain Lodge, and I couldn't be more positive! The staff were warm and friendly, the rooms were clean and beautiful. What a wonderful little oasis in the middle of the red rock desert! Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms on the top floor. You don't want to miss the view!

I've stayed at the Boulder Mtn. Lodge, once before, with visiting out of state friends. I recently received an email promotion from then for a 2nd. night 1/2 off. My husband and I love that area so took advantage of it with a planned 2 night stay turning into 3.
The 1st. visit I was in a 2nd floor, 2 bdrm. suite in the main building with central community area.
This time we had our dog with us (love pet friendly properties) so we were in one of their 1st. floor rooms in the building further down the drive, towards the Burr Trail. Our 2 queen room was large, spotless, nicely decorated with wonderful mattresses, the softest bedding, large, thick terry cloth towels and robes for the hot tub.
I love the amenity of screen doors that allow the inside front and rear doors to remain open for a nice breeze, the adirondack chairs on the patio, overlooking the large grassy lawn, pastures and mountains beyond, the beautiful tubs of overflowing flowers, the elegant rustic design, waterfowl preserve, and large outdoor kitchen in the hot tub patio for BBQ's and picnics.
The front desk service is friendly and helpful. Our last minute request to stay a 3rd. night, in the same room, despite it being high season was accommodated even though the front desk had to do some juggling.
There is a variety of good food choices within a short stroll and good dog walking right out the front door.
Our room was completely quiet, comfortable and luxurious with peaceful mountain ambience.
All the guests seemed to be soaking up the same relaxed pleasure in beautiful country and lovely lodging.
We'll always return.

Room Tip: I've enjoyed both the upstairs rooms in the main building with balcony overlooking the pond/bird...

A lovely lodge by a lake in the desert? Yes! Quiet, serene setting and nice rooms. The beds have wonderful mattresses - a necessity after a day of hiking! Lovely hot tub area. Convenient to the Burr Trail and Eascalante National Monument. Highly recommended.

Our family visited this Lodge on our way from Capital Reef National Park to Bryce Canyon. Our large second floor rooms had a porch which was perfect for watching cattle grazing and the moon rise. Breakfast at the Lodge's Hell's Backbone Grille was perfection including the french press coffee.
I suspect the owner and staff take great pride in providing an oasis of tranquility, Brava.

Room Tip: We loved the second floor porch.
