Excellent food and service - I particularly enjoyed the ribs and the brisket which were very good and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly with quick service. The décor is typical western with even a few original late-1800's items.

when we stopped in Bluff before it was late and in winter. most things were closed.

this time we were able to check this place out. it is a straight up old west steakhouse. not frilly but outside under the cottonwood tree is a great place for an off the grill homestyle steak. they cook it right by you on the grill.

After a day of rafting down the San Juan, we went to Cottonwood Steakhouse and had a great beer outside called Polygamist Ale (you can't have just one...bring some home to your wives) followed by grilled steak and chicken. The food was terrific, the outside dining, pleasant, and the day of rafting followed by good food and drink, memorable.

We had dinner here 2 consecutive nights in mid-May. Where else are you going to dine in Bluff? Unfortunately, both nights it was too cold for anyone to eat outside, but the grilling was still done on the BBQ outside. The first night we were too close to the door to stay warm as drafts came in when diners came and went. Steaks [and chicken] were good and served with potatoes and beans. Service was good. Second night they made sure to seat us away from the entry door. Eat outdoors if you are there on a warm night. Native American and cowboy memorabilia decorations.

Cottonwood Steakhouse Bluff Utah
New owners, but food is consistent as it always was years ago.
Had the duke Rib Eye Special $27.23 -19oz Rib eye Bone in special. Small salad – steak also came with fresh bread slices, all you want-Cubed potatoes and beans. Considering it’s the only steak house for miles and miles was a great flat Rib Eye steak bone in as on special board. Service was excellent as always. I dined inside as they were having a wind storm while I was there in June so did not get to sit outside this visit which I would have enjoyed. Nice outdoor seating area real western atmosphere BBQ style when weather is not too windy etc. They actually do the cooking outside on huge grills. They open 5:30pm. Nice feature as you finish your meal you’ll get to keep the red bandanna you used for your napkin. So you leave with a pleasant memory of your meal. Say hello to Jeanie from Heartflight should you have her as your server. She was previous owner with her husband. Wonderful folks and great lady. Excellent service with a smile and she makes sure you enjoyed your meal or any requirements during your meal.
Great ole country western style BBQ dinners. Worth the visit. As you can see from the other reviews not much else to say except make this stop if overnight in Bluff. You’ll be very glad you did and have fun, enjoy the meal and outside atmosphere if it’s a beautiful desert night.
They also specialize in BBQ chicken, ribs etc. Great menu. You’ll leave full and satisfied.
