“A very nice cabin and very comfortable”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2014

On our way to Colorado, my wife and I stopped over in Bluff Utah, where we happened upon the Desert Inn. We stayed in the large cabin and were very pleased with the staff, but even happier to stay in such a well-appointed cabin... I have no idea about the reset of the establishment, but for anyone who wish peace and quiet in a large well-constructed cabin, then I would recommend number 6.

Room Tip: Cabin 6 is a must.

This place is clean, comfortable and offers a quiet and affordable place to have a good sleep before bounding to ones adventures in the southwest canyons. It also serves a good base for your adventures, conveniently located near most of the national parks and valleys, from where to start your days journeys. You don't have much on offer in Bluff, and this is the best place to stay, but the Desert Rose Inn would still be an excellent choice even if there was. The staff are very friendly -- especially the owner Amir. The rooms are clean and spacious and all the amenities that one needs are available. The Desert Rose Inn also offers excellent views to wake up to. This is probably the most popular place to stay in Bluff and nearby, so it might be worth booking a room here in advance when travelling to the area in busy times.

We have driven past the Desert Rose for years saying we'd have to stop there some time and finally did. Very pleasant stay. Room and bathroom on the small side, but comfortable. Furnishings "rustic", but in good taste and bed was comfortable; it was quiet which made for a good nights rest. Would return.

Desert Rose is indeed that, a rose in the desert. My room in the lodge was spacious and comfortable - with a great view to the cliffs to the south, and the amazing moonrise ot the east! The staff were all very friendly. Bluff is a pretty small town so plan accordingly. Desert Rose Inn has a small store with snacks and convenience items. The wifi barely made it to my room, which was frustrating, but the signal was great in the lobby. It didn't matter anyway - I was there for the nature, not the wifi!

I have stayed at Desert Rose in the past, and I will definately stay again in the future!

Room Tip: On the side of the lodge away from the road, I never heard any noise!

Bluff has just brought in a new internet provide who promises a faster speed and connection. We have had this service for a couple of weeks and it seems to be working great!

The motel is well appointed, but there is noise between rooms. Bluff however has restaurants that may or may not be open. What is available is pricey and just ok. The Desert Rose is the best place to stay in SE Utah.

Thank you for taking the time to write this for guests who will be traveling in this region. I have to admit that indifferent service is also a pet peeve of mine so we will take the time to review and remind our staff that we are here to serve.

The back area of the hotel is in the middle of a renovation that will include a indoor pool and courtyard so this will be ready for your next visit.

Nice and clean hotel that actually has some "character" in the sparsely populated area of Bluff, UT. We stayed in a room with two Queen beds. Reserved directly with the hotel for $119.00 plus tax ($131.20) Does not include breakfast (hotel does not have restaurant)

Room - Very clean. I am sorry I didn't get a good shot of the TV as it has a very nice wall-mounted large (42-50"?) TV. Furniture is in good shape and there were extra towels - all of great quality. Sink area was in the bedroom area - which if you have one that sleeps in and one that doesn't could be a problem. Bathroom had a telephone - haven't seen that in years. Shower worked well and beds/linens/pillows all very comfortable. There are also small "cabins" - I did not go inside one.

We enjoyed sitting outside on the porch and walking around the back. The view of the bluffs behind the hotel is gorgeous. The porches make this place. There is a very large and covered common area porch on one end that is also very nice. However, the hotel is doing some construction and there is equipment, pipes, etc. lying around. I cropped the "junk" out of most of my trip photos - but, you can see one of me next to the backhoe. Overall, the grounds in the back are just a tad "junky" which is a bit distracting from the gorgeous scenery.

We ate at the Cottonwood Steakhouse that is easily within walking distance. Very good.

I would probably have given this place 5* except service was what I would call "indifferent". At check in there was absolutely no warmth or welcome. A very "transactional" event. It is a pet peeve of mine - so, I just couldn't give a 5* without some level of service.

MOTORCYCLE NOTES: Based on previous reviews I requested a room on the back of the hotel because 1) is away from the highway so less noise and 2) has a better view of the "bluffs". However, the parking lot in the back is not blacktopped like the front. It was actually a little tricky getting in/out - in fact, I made my husband pull my bike around the first time. If you are on a motorcycle I suggest you either request a room in the front or park your bikes up front and just walk thru to the backside. We rode the Moki Dugway and Hwy 95 from Natural Bridges east toward Blanding. That part of 95 had to be one of my favorite routes of a weeklong ride. The Moki Dugway - well, it was cool...but, also very stressful. Beautiful riding in the area!

Room Tip: On motorcycles? Request a room on the front for paved parking. The parking in the back and the par...

We stayed here for two nights. The room was clean and comfortable, although the bathroom is small. The lobby is pleasant, and I appreciated the nice assortment of teas. The guest laundry is convenient. We had an upstairs room, and it was quiet. There are rustic chairs on the porch outside each room, where we could enjoy the sunset.
