“need to give them a second chance”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

We ordered the special which was thin sliced turkey over bread with sweet potatoes and stuffing and mashed red potatoes and a trip to the salad bar. The salad bar had good offerings. Dinner came and the turkey was "pressed turkey" or "turkey lunchmeat". I was surprised that a restaurant would do that. However after a full day of hiking, I ate it all. It all tasted good but we do not plan on going back because of that.

Thank you for your review. The turkey we use is thinly sliced baked turkey. Our customers like the tenderness of the thin sliced turkey rather than the dried tough thick slice. The waitress said you commented on how good everything was and that you ate all your food. We try very hard to serve the best food possible but we realize we cannot please everyone all the time.

“Best Place to eat in Blandings!”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

He runs the kitchen, she runs the tables and front. Good delicious wholesome cooking. Nice little menu. She is warm, friendly and a true multi-tasker. Wait till you try their homemake jam on homemade bread. Good salad bar too.

“Good food and excellent service”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

When checking into our hotel we asked for recommendations for restaurants in town. The young lady checking us in wryly said, “We have two in town.”

Well, I opted for the steak house, which was a delight. But I think everyone that had checked into a hotel and ever soul in Blanding decided to go out for dinner at the same time. The place was half full when we arrived and then more people poured in after we were seated. The waitress (note singular reference) did everything to wait on all the tables…and she did an extraordinary job seating people, waiting on tables, and cleaning them to make more room for guest.

It's a really good restaurant with a nice western atmosphere. The food was good and there was a pretty wide variety of choices – steaks, chicken, etc.. I didn’t find the prices out of place for a remote tourist destination.

“Delicious Surprise”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

Everything about this place was a delicious surprise. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was wonderful! My husband thought the salad bar was one of the best he'd ever had. He ordered the hamburger steak. It came with mushrooms and gravy; no bun. He was skeptical at first, but after one taste, he was in love. I had the vegetarian Indian fry bread sandwich and mine as well was the best vegetarian sandwich I ever had, although I was only able to eat one-third of it. It's a very large sandwich. We highy recommend this place. The only regret we have is we'll probably never get back to that area so that we can experience this place again.
