“Good food and service”
Reviewed August 9, 2012

It's a really good restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The food is good and there is a pretty large variety of choices. Every meal includes a salad bar where you can also get soup. Included with the meals are also their homemade biscuits served with butter and raspberry jam, and in my opinion that is the most delicious thing. The service is good and Darla is a really nice and efficient waitress.
We spend around 3 weeks in Blanding each summer, and this is by far our favorite restaurant. Highly recommended!

“Food quite good, service a little lacking, but overall ok”
Reviewed June 23, 2012

The food we ordered was quite nice, and good portion sizes. Prices ok, a little on the expensive side but you do expect that at remote touristy places. The service was a bit of a negative though. Young girl who seemed a bit disinterested (as if she was going out of her way). Took a while to get our drinks, which considering they were soft drinks I didn't think that was too hard. But considering we liked the food, convenient location right next to our motel, and the lack of many other choices, it was not too bad an experience.

Thank you for reviewing The Homestead Steak House. I am sorry that you did not receive better service. The regular waitress got sick and went home. A young staff member thought they could fill in for her, but evidently she still lacks training. We try hard to take good care of our customers. Please come by again when you are in the neighborhood.

“Don't let the looks from the street fool you!”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

We had the good fortune to happen into the Homestead Steak House tonight for dinner. It looked a little run down from the outside but a real delight inside. Very quaint western motif, homespun decore. The diningroom was full to capacity and they offered us a table outside on the patio which I worried about because it was a very warm day. It turned out to be just fine, with a gentle breeze in the enclosed and covered patio. The patio had a sort of Navajo feel to it with lots of old tools and kitchen items nailed to the log enclosure. The only short coming was the seating as it was one piece pic nic benches and tables made of a plastic and was quite uncomfortable. The food seemed a bit pricey but the waitress was so personable we decided what the heck. I ordered the fried chicken dinner, it came with the all you can eat salad and soup bar, mashed potatoes and gravy and steamed vegetables. I recieved 3 pieces of chicken fried in a wonderfully crisp batter. The chicken was moist and tender, the mashed potatoes were actually homemade and the best I have ever eaten in a restaurant! My husband also had the fried chicken and my grandson had the chicken tenders which appeared to be homemade. The salad bar was exceptionally fresh and cold, the soup was ok not great probably not homemade. Our fried chicken dinner was 14.95 each and our grandson's dinner was a bargain at 4.99! I ordered some Fry bread to bring to the Hotel so we can eat that with our coffee in the morning and they included containers of butter and honey. I opened the container and it smelled just like it was made by grandma, fresh and hot. The food was 5 star but had to give four based on the patio experience.

Thank you for your comments. I am glad you enjoyed your meal, but at the sametime, I am sorry the seating was not as comfortable as you would have liked. We have a small place with limited seating. The outdoor option does give us extra seating when we are busy. I realize the benches are not as comfortable as the inside chairs. Again, thank you for the review.

“Vegetarian options”
Reviewed May 24, 2012

The last place I usually eat is a "steakhouse", but there are so few restaurants in Blanding..... This restaurant had both vegetarian and fish options. The salad bar included with my meal was a welcome addition. Service was very friendly.

Thank you for your review. We try to have a variety of foods for all the different patron's tastes. For a small town in Southeastern Utah, we have quite afew fish dishes and vegetarian options. Please stop by again when you are down this way.

“Best meal and service ever!”
Reviewed May 23, 2012

On our trip to the south we found this beautiful restaurant. We loved the homemade bisquits and the raspberry jam. And the cleanest salad bar we´ve ever seen. But the top of all was the service by Darla. What a nice person, fast, helpful. Germany is to far away, but we want to come back.
