The park I comment here is close to Mexican Hat (at less than 20 minutes by the roads 163, 261 and then 316). It is clearly mentionned on the Utah map. The road to get there is in very good condition (completely paved).
The scenery is really fantastic : do not miss it if you drive on road 163. : you discover and dominate several very large and deep curves made by the San Juan river. Unfortunately the rocks are grey and we miss the wonderful colors of the Grand Canyon but the view is so impressive.
Parking is not difficult (at least in September : when we arrived there there was only two other cars!) and you have a table with benches for your picknick (I recommend it).
The visit takes less than one hour, unless you want to walk on the rims.

Not a park. No facilities except picnic table. Overlook cannot take wide angle pic unless in helicopter. Nice view. We drove on to Valley of the Gods.

The picture ( what is this ? ) is : GOOSENECKS STATE PARK, just down from Mexican Hat
( not BLANDING ) UT. the SAN JUAN river because of the goose necks goes a long way in miles but only progress a short distance laterally. Also nearby is the Moki Dugway that is a steep gravel road not recommended for large vehicles/ campers that has spectacular views, & within 1 hr of Natural Bridges National Monument - has several Anasazi settlements

What a surprise to find this wonderful view in the middle of nowhere! The spectacular viewpoint overlooking the San Juan River, was certainly worth the drive. Unfortunately, my camera was unable to do justice to the sheer magnificence of the view.

Our touring group of amateur photographers enjoy a challenge and this is definitely one. A very wide angle lens is needed, or stitch together a panoramic view. Our sky was a bit overcast on this visit but it is worth stopping for the newcomers to our group. A highlight is the drive back to Monument Valley -- the famous Forrest Gump view of the Valley. There is a sign marking the spot where Forrest concluded his run. A better viewpoint is down the hill from there but this area was better for the bus to safely pull over. Both are not that far from Monument Valley -- maybe 10 miles to Mexican Hat. Stop to photograph the "Mexican Hat" rock formation.
