The park I comment here is close to Mexican Hat (at less than 20 minutes by the roads 163, 261 and then 316). It is clearly mentionned on the Utah map. The road to get there is in very good condition (completely paved).
The scenery is really fantastic : do not miss it if you drive on road 163. : you discover and dominate several very large and deep curves made by the San Juan river. Unfortunately the rocks are grey and we miss the wonderful colors of the Grand Canyon but the view is so impressive.
Parking is not difficult (at least in September : when we arrived there there was only two other cars!) and you have a table with benches for your picknick (I recommend it).
The visit takes less than one hour, unless you want to walk on the rims.
