A group of us kayaked and camped. It was calm, lovely and serene. The camp host was a bit gruff with us and we did not know all the rules regarding launching our kayaks. It all worked out in the end though.

i loved this free site to camp. beware of the wind though. we took our tent trailer and parked here. the wind was so fierce, i sounded like someone was trying to kick in our door. we went in the spring so the crowds were gone. easy access to waweep area, page, az.

You can camp right on the shore of Lake Powell. But from Memorial Day to Labor Day Lake Powell is a zoo, but a fun one. If the wind comes up be prepared for sand in Everything. But by the end of July the water temperature is 80 degrees and swimming is WONDERFUL. You can park your RV right on the beach next to the water and drive your boat right up to it. If you need hook ups go over to the campground at Wahweap for all the amenities, but if you want to be right on the water then Lone Rock is the place.
