Eagle Point resort opened 3 years ago from the previous Elk Meadow resort. Elk Meadows had been closed for over ten years. The new resort is updated and streamlined. The price for an adult is $45. (one third the price of Park City/Deer Valley) Thursday skiing is totally FREE this year. California residents are totally FREE the entire season. (I guess they are just trying to get the word out.) The best part is the vertical terrain. Our family had skied Brian Head since moving to Utah 8 years ago. It is so flat and the lift rides are so slow I couldn't bring myself to go back. We started skiing in North Utah. Eagle Point is only 30 minutes further north than Brian Head and the slopes are a real challenge. The layout for beginner/Intermediate slopes on the upper lodge is perfect for a day of moderate skiing. The moderate/expert side of the mountain will challenge any expert skier/boarder. Your whole day will go by and you will have lost track of time. Yes. It is that good!!
The main lodge has and excellent restaurant and hot tubs. The hostess will bring alcohol drinks to your party in the tubs. That is very rare in Utah!!
We stayed the night in the condo's. They were very clean and very ski condo-y.
Basically our family had a ski vacation with some of the best facilities and snow in the USA for one fourth the price of a vacation in Salt Lake City or Colorado. And no lift lines.
What else can you ask for?
You won't be disappointed.

Not the easiest place to get to, but well worth the say. This little gem is a slow 16 mile East of the I-15 just outside of Beaver UT. Where the local town highway patrol will gladly pay you a visit if you happen to miss the 25 mile per hour sign in the snow covered crop field. (Just a warning this time, thank you :)
The main check in lodge is nice, large and well stocked for all three meals and entertainment. There is also a mountain top ski lodge, just in case the 8000ft elevation at the base isn't quite high enough for you. A shuttle van runs continuously throughout the day making passage and warm ups trips back to the condos convenient. There may be some ski out facilities , but most appear to be a sort walk of 100 yards or so to a shuttle stop.
Skiing was very good. Lots of snow with 80 % of the trail being groomed. Their really are two mountains: the upper lodge and the lower. The upper has the rentals and easy runs, the lower having most all of the more challenging drops.
Instructors and ski patrol were plentiful and very helpful and could be found hanging arround the upper lodge.
Two essentials, 4 wheel drive and supplies for your kitchen. If you plan on cooking your own meals be sure to stock up before the drive up.

You'll have the mountain to yourself, diverse terrain for everyone, uncrowded and beautiful! We rented equipment and had the owners helping us put our boots on and off. It was really a wonderful experience. Great for families with kids learning to ski.

Great skiing on "the best snow on earth". Like Mammoth without the crowds. Great for learners and advanced skiers alike. Free skiing for CA residents for 2013 season got us there. Other free offers are available, too. Rentals for our family of 4 was about $110 a day. You can stay in Beaver off the 15 and drive the 30 minute right to the ski rental place and catch the lifts there, too. No hassle whatsoever. No waiting in lines at the top or bottom. And great service, too, as the owners are often the ones taking care of your ski rentals. They know what you need and are happy to help.

Growing up in Las Vegas, Brian Head was the place to go. This past month I visited the newly opened Eagle Point Resort (was Elk Meadows years ago). The new owners have updated the resort and it's worth the extra 45 minutes drive from Parowan. Great service, much nicer lodge, and no lines. I put both my kids in the snowboard school and this is where the resort really shines. 2 instructors for 5 kids and they truly cared about teaching my kids to snowboard. At Brianhead you'd be lucky to have a 20:1 student to instructor ratio.
