Reviewed February 10, 2007

We recently stayed at Cypress Creek Cottages in Wimberley, TX, and I would not recommend it to anyone...ever. This property consists of a handful of crappy, very cheaply thrown together 1-room cabins that are built very closely together, so there's really no privacy, aside from the terribly overgrown wilderness surrounding them (no yards or landscaping whatsoever, wooden planks used as a "sidewalk" leading up to the cabin). They used the absolute cheapest building materials possible, all the way down to the plywood walls stained light blue for a "rustic" flair. There was supposed to be a phone in the cabin...there wasn't (though there was a phone jack). A complimentary breakfast was supposed to be waiting for us upon our arrival...it wasn't. Although it had a small efficiency type kitchen, silverware, bowls, etc were in very short supply...my husband & basically took turns eating cereal in the mornings because there was only 1 bowl. Despite all this, the only saving grace was the private hot tub, right? Wrong. We took the top off to discover slimy, greenish water that STUNK. Never again.

Stayed: December 2006

We've Cleaned House

Candidly, situations like this are the reason why the owner of Cypress Creek Cottages hired a new manager, and a new maintenance crew in early 2007. Our customers are enjoying the difference. We've had record-breaking attendance in February and March, and the phones keep on ringing.

What have we changed?
New bed linens, a whole new motivated and dedicated cleaning crew, new proactive maintenance crew, new welcome notebooks in each cottage with maps & information on Wimberley attractions, new furniture on the deck, and clean inviting jacuzzis. We encourage any customer who had a negative experience in 4th quarter of 2006 to call and give us a chance to make it right.
