“Small town charm, with world class food and atmosphere!”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Leaning Pear never ceases to amaze! They have just completed a brand new expansion with a much larger restaurant, barely a year ago, and are the demand to eat there is already beckoning for more adding on! Matthew and Rachel combine hospitality, grace, wonderful food that is fresh and often locally sourced /organic, into a beautiful architectural setting in the gorgeous Hill Country of Wimberley. Additionally, if by chance you are stranded in a Spring Hail/Rainstorm, and you are pulling a trailer that has just come unhitched, Chef Matthew and his right hand man will come outside, stop what they are doing, and help you get it all back together! ;)

“Very nice but”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

This is a very nice new building and the ambience is very nice. The food is good. My only reservation is that I feel the menu is limited. My wife disagrees and would give it 5 stars.

Blanks on the sections beneath are because I simply don't know.

“Unexpected!”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

I had never really been to Texas before, but was staying with a friend in Wimberley ahead of a wedding in San Antonio, and she took my partner and me to The Leaning Pear. I was really surprised that here, in the idle of the Texas wilderness, was this amazing little gem. The place is interesting architecturally, modern and open. The food was really tasty! I had great mac and cheese (very gooey and cheesy) and excellent roasted chicken on a bed of polenta (or grits, I can't remember). Small but good wine selection. Outstanding desserts. The waitress was folksy and funny, tattooed and friendly. Would definitely go back!

“Fresh and Tasty”
Reviewed May 22, 2014

I had the Farmers Market pizza which had onion jam, brussel sprouts and bacon and it was delicious. My Wife had a small garden salad with goat cheese and it was super fresh and her caprese panini was excellent she boasted! The food is very good and the prices are very reasonable. Service was excellent and you can sit in or out. Closes at 8 pm on weekdays so get there early!
