Poppy's Seafood Grille
Ranked #6 of 58 Restaurants in Willis
Price range: $8 - $17
Description: Poppy's Seafood Grille opened in October 2012 by owners Larry and Chris Reichert, bringing cajun style cuisine with a Texas flair to the Willis area. With the desire for the customer to have an experience and not just a meal, they created a warm friendly atmosphere using a nautical theme with old wood and tin to reflect the Texas Gulf Coast. With a love for good quality food and the desire to see people enjoy a mouth watering, eye catching meal, Poppy's offers its customers entrees prepared with great attention to detail to every plate that goes out of the kitchen. A friendly staff serves our generous portions of seafood classics, such as our fried catfish and shrimp, that are prepared and cooked per order. The menu also includes such southern favorites as jambalaya, "Texas" creole, red beans and rice, poboys, and gumbo. Poppy's own unique appetizers, "Bouchee Rolls" and Corn-eatas, keep customers coming back for more.

We received good service and the food was very good. We both had seafood and we will not go back to Pappadeaux. My Husband had the Bread Pudding and it was nothing to write home about. So, not sure about desserts.

We like going here for lunch from time to time. The staff are very friendly and the menu is great. They are recently under new ownership and the transition has been seamless. We like the bouchee rolls and the red beans and rice.

It's been awhile for us due to our last visit experience. However, when we were there the food was for us a little overpriced for what you receive. There wasn't anything we ordered that blew our mind. They are one of the only places that have crawfish in the Spring and play good live music.

Went here over a year ago and found it average.
A couple of months ago New owners came on the scene.
Returned a couple of weeks ago and found the quality of the food had improved.
Went back last night (Monday) and wanted some raw oysters....they were out and had been since the previous Friday! Seriously, this is the gulf coast!
Ordered the fried oysters instead....forget that. They were dime to nickel size.
My friend ordered a white Russian, guess what....no Kahlua! Seriously. Maybe they will get their act together someday.
