“A fabulous relaxing hotel with some v nice luxurious features”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2006

I stayed in the Marriott for a week in June while on a Business trip and I couldn't have been more impressed. First let me start with the rooms. The room is extremely large with gorgeous furniture, a large lovely bathrooom and the most amazing king size bed. The bed is the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever stayed in with what i can only describe as luxurious quilts and pillows (you can even buy these duvet sets from the Marriot if you wish) and mine is on the way! The hotel has a nice pool area with a jacuzzi which I spent some time in and enjoyed.

There is a great room service menu which i sampled only one night. But what I got was excellent. The staff very firendly and courteous, I needed a mobile phone charger and they brought one down to my room straight away.

The Hotel itself is very big and spacious with a bar and two restaurants. But its the fabulous bedrooms that are its greatest selling point - they are so large and comfortable. If you are every travelling to Westlake - do not hesitate to pick the Mariott.

At first glance, this hotel has most everything right. Beautiful architecture, friendly staff and spacious rooms. However, I had the bad luck of being given an adjoining room. It is unbelievable how thin these doors are! The woman next door was on the phone for 90 minutes and I heard all of her conversation! I finally pounded on the wall to get her to be quiet. When I inquired at the desk, they offered no relief and simply said they had heard that complaint before.

I was booked for two nights and only stayed for one. I have traveled for 15 years and never encountered a problem like this (and I've stayed in some pretty questionable properties!). This hotel needs to spend money and replace the plywood doors with a soundproof door. Until they make this change, I would not recommend this hotel.

If you're expecting a La Quinta or Red Roof Inn experience, this Marriott will meet your expectations.
Some of the staff are very nice, then there are others that don't speak a word of english and are in charge of bags and such. We attended a wedding and a man was in charge of moving some boxes from the reception at the end of the night. One of those boxes contained a glass memorial candle holder which was shattered because he took the luggage cart down a ramp too fast. The owner of the box told him to slow down but because he couldn't understand her, he went right on down the ramp at top speed and broke the candle holder.
The rooms are rather sparsely decorated but the beds are very comfortable.
I won't ever go back to this Marriott.

Dallas Marriott Solano is what I would term a "touch of class and hospitality rarely found." We traveled from Tulsa to Dallas to visit some family members. Our three day stay at the Marriott Solano was the greatest part of our trip. We would love to go back anytime!!

I stayed two nights at this hotel in early September, 2005. It's a beautiful hotel and I loved the design - contemporary with a Latin flair. Simple lines. Room was decorated with sage green and lavender - - it was very nice.

As others have said, this hotel is not near any major attractions, but it's not hard to drive to Dallas or Fort Worth.

Service was very good but not excellent. Polite and helpful, but just didn't wow me like a number of other hotel staffs have.

Overall, a great value and I would stay here again.

This hotel, and corporate campus, was designed in the late 1980s by a prominent Mexican architect. The differences may be somewhat subtle but it makes for a more interesting stay than a typical cookie cutter hotel. The layout of the hotel leads to a few lengthy walks but perhaps spreads the guests out for a quieter stay. The architecture features thicker walls, some water features in public areas and the use of deep rich accent colors in the Mexican tradition. Don't be fooled into expecting a hacienda however, this is a completely contemporary design.

The hotel is remote from most places but with Dallas-Fort Worth growing quickly outward, it is not as isolated as it once was. Texas Motor Speedway and Alliance Airport (not a commercial passenger airport) are a short drive away.

The hotel's public areas are small but nicely styled. The campus setting makes the outdoor pool and spa especially peaceful and secluded. Some rooms do have a small balcony. The bed was comfortable and the room was simple but pleasantly decorated.

Most service I experienced was gracious and the quality of the food was strong but not exceptional.

This is an interesting hotel architecturally. It is not really “near” anything but it isn’t far either by local standards. If you want to walk out of your hotel in either downtown Fort Worth or Dallas, this is not your hotel. However, if you are interested in suburban upscale DFW and want to be near say SouthLake, it is well located. It is in the middle of a high-end office park and there is really nothing around it but big corporations. It is DEAD at night.
Now for the hotel. The public areas are nice and the design attractive. The guest rooms are tasteful and many, if not all, have balconies. The pool/Jacuzzi area is nice, as is the nearby fitness club that you can use for free as a hotel guest. Certain issues however can ruin your trip (I have stayed in 3 different rooms.) Avoid rooms with adjoining doors to other rooms. The acoustics of these rooms is horrible. You can hear the person next-door converse on the phone, breathe heavily in their sleep, and pass gas. I am not exaggerating. When I complained to the front desk a woman said, “many of our guests complain how much they can hear and say it is creepy.” Also avoid their handicapped rooms as you will have to contend with a VERY heavy bathroom door that must be closed every time you wish to exit the room as it obstructs the door into your actual room. The food in the restaurant, Cielo, is pretty good and a really reasonably priced buffet.

Bottom line: I would stay again but make sure I had the right room
