This is a convention hotel, so it is usually not very busy on the weekends and is the best place for a quiet getaway. The pool area is very nice, the landscaping, the décor, it is just relaxing. And the amenities of the Marriott are all there, staff is excellent, the ratio of staff to customers means you get the red carpet treatment. Food service is excellent, no reason to leave, but if you have to the Southlake area is just minutes down the road for a wide variety of entertainment. And the pricing makes this a great value.

This is a convention hotel so most weekends it is not very full. Great staff great location great rooms (business class) and lots of privacy. Full service from staff that makes you feel very comfortable. Awesome pool you virtually have to yourself.

Room Tip: Request a room by pool. Underground parking door right there very convenient

We have stayed at this hotels many times over the past 15 or so years. It is starting to look tired. The pool area is neglected. I know this is a 'business' hotel, but there are those staying over the weekend for relaxation. Some of the upholstery is needing to be freshened up. The complimentary toiletries were not full when we were arrived. I can only assume they were left over from the previous guest. Uck! The location is excellent, though. And the breakfast on the concierge level is fabulous. But it is odd that they charge for wine and other drinks. Never seen that at any other Marriott we have stayed at. The concierge staff (both at night and in the morning) was better than average, in fact excellent.

Dear Gail M.
Thank you for your loyalty over the last 15 years of staying at our hotel and for your kind comments regarding our concierge attendants and buffet. I was disappointed to read of the service failures you experienced and I hope that your prior stays still reinforce the level of service that we are more accustomed to delivering and your recent experience as not being the norm for us. I would love an opportunity to follow up with your directly if you could reach back out to me at the hotel.

Regards,

Todd Winch General Manager

A unique complex in a beautiful setting, surrounded by luscious green lawns and trees~very serene. The staff was very Texas friendly and accommodating, anticipating your every need. We stayed the weekend and attended a rehearsal dinner there, with drinks on the patio before the dinner. The atmosphere and the staff were outstanding, and the meal was delicious, making the event an over the top success.
Our room was very clean and tidy~the bed extremely comfortable. The outside pool/hot tub area was alright but we had to go to the bar (inside) to order drinks. I was very surprised how sparse the service was at the pool area. My only other negative is how expensive the breakfast was.

the architecture is unique...strange... everything seems to be right out of an 80s film, from the oddly bold and overly grandiose architecture to all the furnishings. still, the staff is very friendly and helpful and it is close to my office.

one complaint: concierge floors charge for drinks! my experience has been that all things on concierge floors are comp'd. one consolation is that the cost is way below market price.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share some of your experiences while staying at our hotel. I have forwarded your review about the friendly staff to the team. They truly appreciate to hear the positive feedback about their levels of service as we strive to not only meet but exceed every guest's expectations.

We have received many various comments and descriptions about the style and decor of the hotel, as it is one of Marriott's most unique. If you are interested in researching further, this hotel was designed by a famous Mexican architect named Ricardo Legoretta.

I hope we have the opportunity to host you in your future travels and thanks again for the review of the hotel.

Weird building but room was typically Marriott - very comfortable.
Wonderful staff - I left a personal item in my room and called the hotel shortly after leaving. I asked that they bring the item to the front desk and have it ready for me to pick up when I got there. It was ready as promised on time – thanks for the great service!

Very attractive property designed by an architect from Mexico. Aging but still well cared for. The staff is excellent from the front desk, to the restaurant, to housekeeping. They really worked hard to ensure we were comfortable and satisfied. These folks protect the Marriott brand and they do it very well!
