Owner description: Clark Gardens Botanical Park welcomes visitors all year long. The breathtaking 35 acre oasis awakens the senses, stirs the spirit and relaxes the mind. From the first spring blossoms to the colorful fall and into the stillness of winter there is a sense of magic. Wheelchair accessible pathways wind through lavish ribbons of color and fragrance. Waterfalls sparkle in the sunlight splashing down to ponds and lakes where black and white swans, along with other waterfowl, glide in the shimmering waters. You may see peacocks strutting, or get a glimpse of blue herons or great egrets swooping down, their huge wingspans casting shadows over the lakes.

We visited March 16, 2011. Lots of green. A little early for all the colrs, but still very pretty and peaceful.

We've had a drought here in Texas and I'm sure that played a part in the lack of blooming plants and wilted flowers. But I could envision the beauty and splendor that this park would typically have! The grounds were well maintained, free from litter, paths were clearly marked, and we enjoyed out visit. Someone was having a wedding in the rose garden the day we were there so the setting was even more enchanting from the extra decorations. I would have preferred more shady places to stop along the way. There are numerous hidden treasure along the path as it curves around, and you never know what wondrous sight will greet you next! The model trains that were running along the miniature tracks were delightful! There is a small fee to get in, but I'm not sure what it was since we went on a day when there was free entry. Some type of special promotion. I would like to go back in cooler weather and stay longer.

We have been going to Clark Gardens since it opened! We have also been there every season. We can say, hands down, that Mr. Clark has something blooming year-round. This is a delightful garden. The miniature train section is a sheer joy! We would be hard pressed to pick our favorite section of the entire garden as each area stands on its own! This is a wonderful day trip. You are allowed to bring in a cooler so we usually bring a picnic lunch and lunch in the pavillion beside one of the ponds. There are two public restrooms, always sparkling, and both have access to water fountains as well (but we would advise you to bring your own bottled water as you'll use it since the gardens are so large). The gardens are handicap accessible and easy to stroll at your leisure. We have never been that we haven't seen Mr. Clark somewhere in the gardens working (overseen by his old chocolate Lab, Chocolate)! We could go on and on but, suffice it to say, we enjoy our time spent at Clark Gardens.
