Nice clean hotel with good beds and extra fluffy pillows . Well lighted bathroom with decent water pressure for showers . Walls are on the thin side as we could hear a cell phone ringing and someone snoring during the night in the room next to us. Breakfast was typical fare, eggs, bacon , waffles , bagels , muffins with plenty of juice and coffee . Staff seemed friendly . Our only drawback was the rats living directly outside the main entrance of the hotel , probably due to the nearby construction . Four healthy rats , running along the walking paths and the bench areas . They were living under the shrubbery . You could see their tunnels and the droppings . They made some patrons uncomfortable and scared others. We did report it to the desk clerk , Charity , who said she would contact maintenance , but wasn't sure what could be done about it ( really ?). We all found it difficult to believe that no one had complained about the rats before us.
The Waxahachie area is nice , lots of history and many large grand old homes . We were there for two days for my sons wedding and we are always leery of hotels when we don't know the area , as we've had some hairy experiences . But Comfort Suites was a nice stay and a good value .
