“Yes, Waco has a zoo and it's GREAT”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

This is one of our favorite ways to spend time together as a family. This zoo is less crowded than the San Antonio Zoo, yet the experience with the animals and different exhibits seems more up close and personal. There is a wonderful playground in the middle of the park which encourages interactive play. There are musical elements, a little stage made from a tree stump, complete with log benches. A huge covered area, bathrooms and a regular playground equipment. Provides a great place to rest up and have some fun. Be sure to check out the buffalo display where you can sit inside a tepee. The orangutans exhibit is one of our favorites! Interactive Gongs and musical xylophones...there is so much to see and do there. We are totally engrossed and entertained the whole time every visit.

“Small in size, but large in quality. Perfect way to spend a morning.”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

I take my grand-daughter here at least once each year. She doesn't live near Waco, but if she did we would come more often. She loves to buy food and then feed the fish and turtles. We like the aquarium, it's a cool spot on a hot day! Her favorite thing is the slide that goes through the otter pool. She could do that slide over and over all day, if I'd let her. The landscaping is beautiful, and the facilities are kept very clean. It takes about 2 hours to see everything, and by then we are ready to go somewhere cool to eat lunch. Tip: we came here once on a winter day, and there were very few other people, so we had the playgrounds mostly to ourselves.

“Excellent Zoo!”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

Size was perfect and layout was such that you never missed a turn, therefore, never missing any of the exhibits or animals. Very clean with lots of benches and restrooms throughout. Well worth it!! Great signage and outdoor dining areas amongst the animal exhibits.

“Thoughtful Layout, Nice Size”
Reviewed December 30, 2012 via mobile

So much better than what Waco had many years ago. Nice zoo for a city this size. Enclosures consider the animal's natural habitat as much as possible. Staff is friendly. Great areas for kids to play. Not too big, but big enough for a good bit of exercise. Take in the surrounding park. Amazingly beautiful.

“Behind the scenes”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

We were fortunate enough to get to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Cameron Park Zoo. The animal wranglers were all obviously very attached to their charges. For a city its size, Waco is lucky to have such a fine and well-tended zoo.
