I've been stopping at this dive on the Circle in Waco for many, many years and it has never disappointed. It remains a relic of the '50s in every aspect except for the price (inflation is everywhere).
I stopped in yesterday while on a quick trip into Waco on business. My bacon cheeseburger (which I ordered without the trimmings for a true test of a quality burger) was loaded with tons of cheese and bacon. It was outstanding down tot he last bite.
They still serve the Dublin Dr. Pepper out of the fountain which is always a treat for those of us who don't live in Central Texas anymore and can't get the original Dr. Pepper recipe with real cane sugar.
I didn't have time for a shake/malt on this trip (although I tried to no avail to squeeze some time for one after my meeting) but they always serve up an outstanding shake done old school style.
On the negative side, please go to the bathroom before you go to Health Camp. It will ruin the meal. But then again, the cheesy old atmosphere is part of the charm.
