“Good Bar B Q abd Fun Experience!”
Review of Rudy's

Rudy's
Ranked #9 of 398 Restaurants in Waco
Certificate of Excellence
Cuisines: Barbecue
Description: Just north of San Antonio, at the edge of the Texas Hill Country, sits the small community of Leon Springs. Founded in the 1800s by Max Aue, Leon Spring's cityscape changed when Max's son, Rudolph, opened a one-stop gas station, garage, and grocery store. Bar-B-Q was added to the operation in 1989, and Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q has been serving up tasty food ever since. The same original recipes that built Rudy's Leon Springs' reputation are now available throughout the Southwest. Our pits are 100% wood fired with oak, a slower burning wood than the mesquite used by others. Along with time and oak, we cook with a dry spice that ensures each plate of Rudy's Bar-B-Q is perfectly ready for you. Apply some of our famous "Sause" and dinner is served.

“Good Bar B Q abd Fun Experience!”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

If you want to fix your Bar B Q urge and have a fun time, this is the place. It's line service: quick and simple. And you feel like eating in a big barn filled with long tables and benches. Our favorites were pork ribs, half chicken and turkey (priced by weight) suppled with cole slaw, corn on the cobb and beans salad, plus of course a couple bottles of beer. The folks were nice and wonderful.

“Good 'ol southern bbq”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

I had never eaten at a Rudy's. My friend suggested it and we liked their food. The restaurant was clean and open. The tables are set up community style. I don't mind that, I'm just glad it wasn't packed with people. It would have been nice to have had more than 2 sauces to chose from, but overall, no complaints. Their buttermilk pie was de-lish!

“Unique Restaurant”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

When you order there are maybe 4 or 5 places to do so. There is one guy standing at a very large table in the back that orchestrates everything. All of the meat is prepared just as you order it - and there is plenty of food that they serve you. There are lots of drink choices & sauces on the tables. Actually they are picnic tables that you eat at. It is kinda like a general store from days gone by. At any rate you will get your fill of some good food at reasonable prices.

“My meat had no taste.”
Reviewed June 3, 2013 via mobile

I enjoyed the atmosphere, and the up-front staff was cheerful and helpful; but my pulled pork sandwich was very skimpy on the meat which, alone, had no taste. I never did get enough sauce out of the shaker bottles as I was afraid to continue the violent shaking lest it get on my clothes.
