A place to get a burger and some hint of the old days of "hanging out at Dairy Treet." Local popular spot.

“Best Burgers and Almost like Homemade IceCream”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

I remember going to this place with my parents calling in the order, we go pick it up and take it home. That was in the late 50's and I'm still going there. I went to school across the street and we were allowed to go over to Dairy Treet for special occasions (back then they had picnic tables on the side). Burgers are the BEST in town and the ice cream tastes homemade. I have friends that live out of town and as they come into town, call in their order so it will be ready as they get to the place!! Have never had bad food here. This is the phone number everyone I know, remembers!!!! LOL

“Best Burgers in Victoria for Over 50 Years!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

Dairy Treet is a phenominal family owned, carry out burger stand that has remained in it's orginal location since opening for business in Victoria back in 1955! In todays's tight economy, it's has been tough for many businesses - especially small "Mom & Pop" type businesses - to keep their doors open. Restaraunts have seemed to be hit particularly hard by the slow economy, but this is definitely NOT the case with Dairy Treet. This small restaraunt has stood the test of time by consistently serving excellent food with very affordable prices for over 57 years. Their angus beef hamburgers are always juicy & cooked to perfection. The buns are always fresh & never dry and the same goes for the burger toppings (lettuce, tomato, onions, cheese, jalepeno) always fresh & NOT skimped on. You can count on getting at least 2 - 3 FRESH, juicy tomato slices per burger. Unlike some places that have cut back on their ingredients to the point of you being lucky to get a slice of tomato the size of a 50 cent piece that is still half green, hard & flavorless. I particularly love their french fries - thick crinkle cut fries that are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside......unlike many burger places that now serve what I refer to as hard, overcooked, over salted potato sticks. I have been eating Dairy Treet food for as far back as I can remember, at least since the 60's. I have never been disappointed or have gotten sick off of their food. I can not say the same about the likes of Sonic, Jack-in-the-Box or Burger King. I have had many burgers over the years, at many different establishments around Texas and beyoind, and while a few may have rivaled Dairy Treet's burgers in the freshness & flavor categories, none of them can beat Dairy Treet's prices. Yes, you can find a cheaper burger in Victoria, but the size of the burger, the quality & the flavor will be sorely lacking in comparison to Dairy Treet. Should you decide to visit Dairy Treet, be advised that this is NOT a sit down restaraunt. You park your vehicle & walk up to a window to place your order, then wait for 10 - 15 minutes for your number to be called. You can sit & eat in your car (similar to Sonic), but many people choose to pick up their order & take it home, back to the office, etc. Dairy Treet does NOT take personal checks, but they do accept cash & debit or credsit cards.

“Classic Drive-In with Great Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

Love Dairy Treet and remember as a child going with my family to enjoy their food and ice cream. It's been here for years, and it's just a simple building you park in front of, get out, and order at one of the windows. Their burgers are great, and so is just about everything else. I am an onion ring critic (my husband still makes the best, Texas Roadhouse comes close) and am not really impressed by theirs, although they are hand breaded and not bad. That's probably the only thing I don't care for off the menu. The menu has a good variety: burgers, chicken stip and steak finger baskets, chili cheese fries, gizzards, nachos, frito pie, fried fish, milk shakes, blended ice creams (like blizzards or mcflurries). The service could use a little improvement, but it varies in that it's only occasionally bad. Overall a classic for me and many other locals, I recommend trying it out if you want some good old fashioned American food.

“The Best Old Fashion Malt Out There!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2012

This place has been here since I moved to this town in 1978. It's a drive in like the new sonics without the speakers. You pull in (watch out for the awning poles) and go to the window to order your food. They give you a number and you sit in your car until your number is called. Doesn't take to long. They malts are the best...omg....I can not go there until this is on the order. Their burgers are very good and always get their onion rings and a malt of course. Getting in and out can be tricky but the food is awesome.

You had better have cash cuz they don't accept checks but it's all worth it. Just a fun place to visit if you like the old fashion way of doing things. I have a 68 camaro and this is a fun place to hang out while waiting for your food. Also don't forget your ice cream when you are done!

The only reason I gave them a 4 star is cuz they don't bring it to you. Everything else is a 5 star including their window service.
