Description: The PumpHouse Riverside Restaurant and Bar was Named Victoria's Best of the Best Overall restaurant by readers of The Victoria Advocate in their annual Best of the Best contest. All menu items are cooked to order from the freshest ingredients available. The executive chef was classically trained at the Connecticut Culinary institute and takes great pride in the dishes he prepares. The full bar offers an extensive wine list along with all of your favorite cocktails. Reservations are recommended, especially on Friday or Saturday nights or for Sunday brunch. Large groups can be accommodated with advance notice. The venue was actually the old water pumping station for the city of Victoria. Guests can choose from seating in one of the historic rooms or outside on the banks of the Guadalupe River. Live music is offered on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and during Sunday brunch.

“Off the beaten Trail.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013 via mobile

While on our way to Rockport we were looking for somewhere to have Sunday Brunch and after reading the reviews we decided to give the Pump House a try. We were a bit unsure when we left the main roads behind and started down the country lanes but it was well worth it when we eventually arrived at this little oasis. The service and food were excellent. We sat on the deck and enjoyed not only the Texas sunshine but some good live music.

“Bliss on the river”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2013

We ran up to Victoria for a rare weekend away, and picked the pump house because of its reviews. We got there for lunch, and sat on the deck , which has a lovely view of the river. In addition, there was a multitude of butterflies floating around. It was delightful. We split the corn fritters, which were excellent , and the classic nachos. Ok, so not a gourmet meal, but they were both very good, and the service was fine. We will definitely go back, and as often as we can.

Excellent food, atmosphere and service! Upscale and hip restaurant in the historic pump house offers fresh and unique dishes with live music in a friendly, relaxing environment. Tastefully renovated building just adds to the charm. Very enjoyable and highly recommend :)

“Great Little Restaurant and Bar”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

This week, while in Victoria, TX on business, I found a new place to eat dinner, The Pump House. We went for dinner and had one of the nicest meals I have enjoyed in nearly a year. We were staying in the Hilton Garden Inn and Suites and, using the GPS, we took 17 lefts and 13 rights to finally get there, but it was worth it. The entry is very beautiful, the building, seen in the dark, appeared to be old stone renovated. Inside was quite rustic/modern while out back, the deck overlooks the Guadalupe River. Everything was good except the server had some glitches. We had the fried Mac N Cheese w Jalopeno Ranch Dressing on the side. It was quite good. Our main course was the Double Cut Pork Chop with Boubon/Molassas Glaze served on a bed of fluffy Smashed Sweet Potatoes. I'm not sure if it was the pre-dinner Martinis or if it was just that good, but it was Delicious! I would say it was one very satisfying and tasty meal and would recommend it to anyone.

“Great Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

We have visited here often and I must say that I have had one of the best steak dinners of my life here at The Pump House. The Shrimp Shooter appetizers are a favorite as well. The restaurant is literally an old Pump House. The inside can get quite noisy due to the old structure of the building. The outdoor seating overlooks the river. They have live music on weekend evenings. I have had the cabbage roll for lunch and was not impressed with this compared to other dishes. Overall, great food and fun atmosphere. Prices are a bit more upscale. Not a place to have intimate conversation if sitting indoors.
