Description: The PumpHouse Riverside Restaurant and Bar was Named Victoria's Best of the Best Overall restaurant by readers of The Victoria Advocate in their annual Best of the Best contest. All menu items are cooked to order from the freshest ingredients available. The executive chef was classically trained at the Connecticut Culinary institute and takes great pride in the dishes he prepares. The full bar offers an extensive wine list along with all of your favorite cocktails. Reservations are recommended, especially on Friday or Saturday nights or for Sunday brunch. Large groups can be accommodated with advance notice. The venue was actually the old water pumping station for the city of Victoria. Guests can choose from seating in one of the historic rooms or outside on the banks of the Guadalupe River. Live music is offered on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and during Sunday brunch.

This place definitely wins "best outdoor seating" restaurant in Victoria, Tx. It sits overlooking the Guadalupe river and has been in a few magazines for its unique beauty. The pecan crusted chicken dinner is a favorite of mine; however, they have a lot healthier options as well. Their food is always fresh ingredients. They have a good brunch on Sunday with bottomless mimosas. Live band usually plays on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings (maybe Sundays?..can't remember). They host private parties. Highly recommend.

We ate outside with a view of the river which was very nice. The building, service and atmosphere were all very good. The food was good but I was expecting better. I would try it again.

The food and atmosphere are the two redeeming qualities of this restaurant. The pecan crusted chicken and ahi tuna were very good. The location near the river is excellent when combined with the live music. Now, the downside is these delicious meals come at a high price. The value of the food is a little low. Meals come with one side and everything else is extra.
The service is not bad and I cannot speak to the inside servers do ce my wife and I sat outside.

Shotty service, loud inside, nice outside seating, decent drinks, medium-high prices, bland burgers, good seafood, nice steak and bad BAD cheesecake!! For Victoria, it's one of the nicer places...but for a bigger city, not so much.

Decided to have our anniversary dinner there on a Tuesday evening. They were decently busy, enough to make it a bit loud at times (like a warehouse, bad acoustics). We were sat promptly but not greeted by a server for 5+ minutes. The server was so friendly, but seemed new and kinda all over the place. One of our orders was wrong, but quickly fixed. We had steak brushetta, which was cooked perfectly and had lots of flavor. Then, a mushroom/swiss burger which had a stange texture and shrimp shooters, delicious and for adults only (vodka). Sweet potato fries were fine. Good cosmopolitan. Our experience ended on a negative note which was dessert. We shared the turtle cheesecake and it was the worst cheesecake I have ever tried. Even frozen ones at Walmart are better! It was gummy and bland and the toppings (pecans, sauce and whip cream) were miniscule at best. We will return, but no dessert for us!
