An unexpected stop on our trip, we came in to town in between Thunderstorms and looked for a place to stay the night to ride out the storms. Staff was friendly, and helpful, room was nice and clean. Room was amazingly quiet and peaceful, did not experience any problems.

This will be the last time I stay at a Best Western hotel just because of the name. I just booked the hotel without checking reviews. This was a big mistake. I have stayed in many BWs all over the lower 48 states with nothing but good things happening. Management has let this hotel run down and it shows. Booked on line because wife was ill and it was on I 70. Got there and found out the handicapped room was being remodeled(?) Could not open door to room with out a shoulder block. Room smelled to high heaven. Opened the windows then unloaded the car. They did offer to move us, but by then wife was already in the worn out bed. So we sprayed room freshner. Flies were hard to kill but we did get a few. Hotel was over priced for the condition of the place. Grass needed cutting, place needed paint, payment needed to be redone. Room was old and crusty. Otherwise it would do for one night. Next morning I got to watch the cows eat while I was taken a shower. Checked on breakfast. Did not even get my wife out of the car. We went to the real nice little resturant down the street. Very frustrating, and left a bad impression of the chain of Best Western.

Pretty okey, nothing special. Good room, no bugs, a tad too cold outdoor pool, spacius rooms and a average motel just to slep for one night. Average prices, everything was decent for a one night stay, but wouldnt come back for another stay.

Room Tip: Pick a room close to the reception

No smoking rooms wre definitely not no smoking. Pool was dry and closed down in the summer. Rooms are musty and dark. The room was dark and I had a hard time even seeing to shave. The A/C did not cool down, even on full blast. The "high speed" interent did not work at all. Could not connect with phone or tablet and the desk clerk had no idea what to do. If you need to stay in this area, just drive the extra 50 miles to AMarillo.

On June 28th we stayed at the Best Western in Vega TX. We confirmed that they had a room and arrived late afternoon. We stayed in Rm 128. Upon entering I found 10 different bugs dead on the bathroom floor and sink area. I proceeded to take a shower and only had luke warm water. After that I was standing by the sink and saw something moving. It was a cockroach. I had been and exterminator for 18 yrs so I knew this was a cockroach. Went up and talked to the manager and he said these were bugs that just passed thru, they stay for a wk and move on. What a line! The manager did not seem to be concerned about this. He did offer to put us in another rm but what good would that do? In the past year we have stayed in 35 different rooms and never had a problem like this. Bugs and an unproffesional Manager. Needless to say how do you sleep when you know there are cockroaches in your room!

One young lady seemingly did all the work and was very polite and helpful. The man at the counter had to be called away from the TV to replenish syrup for the pitiful excuse of a breakfast. The only eggs available were 3 or 4 boiled eggs. Of the items available the supply was limited and I was the only one eating at the time. Now I understand why!

We were very disappointed in this motel. The lobby area smelled overwhelmingly of curry as we checked in. That is not an inviting aroma when checking into a motel.
Our room was dark, dreary, and needed updating. I did not use the shower because it was so very uninviting. We were eager to get going the next morning and were hopeful the breakfast room would have been aired out and not smelling of last night's dinner. It was not to be. Curry again! The very worst part was hearing a very angry older man shouting at a young woman as we entered. I was very embarrassed for her and horrified at his behaviour in his place of business. We had quick cup of coffee and glass of orange juice and hit the road.
Best Western needs to drop this motel from their franchise!
