I could spend all day here and enjoy myself. Love the cats (lions, jaguars, tigers, cheetahs, bobcat, cougar, etc.). The staff is very nice and helpful.

“Two Hours of Fun in the Sun”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

As other reviewers have said, Caldwell Zoo is on the smallish side; but it is well-worth going to. If you keep going, you can see it in about 2 hours. Bring hats, sunscreen, and water for enjoyable viewing in the Texas summer heat when not in the shade. Refill water bottles at the cold water fountain by the children's petting area rather than the warm water where you wash your hands.
If you have other zoo membership, you will likely get 50% off your admission when showing your card.

“Very nice zoo.”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

This is a very nice zoo, it is on the small side compared to the ones in the 'big' metropolitan areas but it is definitely a place that you need to see if you are in Tyler.

The animal exhibits are ample and the layout of the zoo is well organized. The grounds are very well maintained and the animals look well taken care of.

The 'African Plains' area is big and beautiful; from the sitting area you can really enjoy the tranquility of the open space the animals are far enough to give them space but close enough for you to actually feel like they are close..

“Nice Small Zoo”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

The Tyler Zoo is a treat. Small zoo, very few primates but other than that it is a great half day experience. Lots of natural habitat. Inexpensive. Staff are helpful.
