I just really wanted to check this place out and see how it looks like without the roses in bloom. And to my amazement, it still look grand . The grounds are well maintained. Somehow, it reminds me of a garden in Bruhl, Germany. I would recommend to check out the Rose Museum before you leave. It is very informative and brings you back to the late 1930's. Parking is free.

This is an old rose garden that the Tyler Rose society promotes. Maintained by the city and open for free to visitors. Not much but rows of roses and a pond. Not worth the trip but ok if you are needing a place to eat your lunch. Lock your car as this is a high crime area of Tyler.

If you are in Tyler, check and see if the roses are blooming -- It is spectacular! The gardens are beautiful to walk and enjoy anytime of year, but when the roses are in bloom you are able to see countless varieties of roses in one location. Nature at it's best! Roses, butterflies, walking paths, other flower gardens with identification markers and a great gift shop.

This garden is best in spring and of course in October when the Rose Festival occurs. It is a great location for a relaxing stroll or picnic. When the roses are in bloom, the smell is fantastic. They really take care of the grounds. Highly recommend if you are in the Tyler area.

I was a little disappointed in the Tyler Rose Garden. I think my expectations were too high. I have been several times and once the flowers were very beautiful. If you are in the area and have some extra time, you might want to visit.
