“A Little Gem in the Heart of East Texas!”

WOW! What can I say... this place is awesome on so many levels. The staff is top notch and so knowledgeable about every aspect of the place. We had several delightful chats with the owner, Pierre, as he is very hands on and we saw him all over the estate. In addition to their wonderful wines, they have a brand new Vodka that you must try called DIRK's Texas Vodka! YUM! Some of the best I have ever had. (only available at the Distillery on the property at this time). My hat goes off to the owner and staff for making our visit so wonderful. Our breakfast was great and as I said before, the service was top notch! See y'all again soon!

We were very fortunate to be staying with friends in Dallas who are originally from South Africa and, as a birthday present to my wife, they took us to the Kiepersol Winery for the night. A couple of hours drive from Dallas, the winery is situated in beautiful Texan countryside. The B&B is really a top class hotel with a stunning restaurant and the rooms are all decorated in South African style with pictures of the owners family going back generations. After dropping our bags in the rooms, we went off to do the wine tour up at the winery - absolutely fascinating and the staff, including the daughters of the owner, obviously love their jobs. Steven, who took us around the winery was extremely knowledgeable on the workings of the winery and he talked us through all the different wines as we consumed them. In the evening we had a glorious dinner with their wine in the restaurant and the staff took us up into the enormous wine racks for a look at the thousands of bottles. I am not usually a fan of wine, being a beer man, but this was excellent. The next day we wandered around the vineyards amongst the guineafowl and my wife got her dog fix when we met the huge, friendly hounds that live there. We bought wine from the winery at ridiculously low prices before we headed off to Dallas. A wonderful place that should be visited by anyone coming to Texas - they are not, under Texan law, allowed to export the wine so this is the only chance you will get to taste this remarkable wine!

My husband and I have stayed at lots of B&B's over the years, and I can say with absolute certainty that our stay at Kiepersol Estates B&B was one of the best! It's located at a winery of the same name just outside of Tyler, TX. From the moment we drove up to the time we left, we experienced first class, exceptional service from the friendliest staff we've encountered in many, many years! They strive for perfection in all that they do. All of the staff are exceptionally customer service oriented and We especially enjoyed our interactions with Sebastian, Matt, and Stephen. While staying there, make sure to take a tour of the winery. They only give tours on Saturday's at 2pm or 4pm. We highly recommend Kiepersol B&B!

Room Tip: Several of the rooms have a screened in back porch with a private hot tub. We stayed in the Coastal...

Interesting B&B located in an upscale residential neighborhood about 10 miles outside of Tyler, Texas. Very small (5 room) with attached public restaurant and bar. Great service, good vibe and ambiance. The steak and wine were excellent, but other (expensive) food choices were bland and not very good. The room was appointed well. The heater/AC quit working halfway through the night, but the room maintained enough heat, so I wasn't wanting to deal with that. The room is close to the bar area, so it was noisy until they closed at 11:00 PM. The patio has a hot tub, but it is a common area split by a wooden divider and only has open screen to outside - it was very cold out there, with little privacy, just FYI - that may be OK with you. (see picture) Overall it was very nice with just a few things that kept it from being a perfect escape.

Room Tip: Champagne room is largest room and has a patio with hot tub.

We decided to try the "Wine Country of East Texas" on this year's anniversary trip (4 days, 6 vineyards, wineries, restaurants, B&B's). We chose to return to Kiepersol for one night based on our experience two years ago. The vineyard, the winery, the wines, the tour, all combine to make a delightful visit (never knew the ion effect salt domes have on thunderstorms, cool!).

After our tour, we checked into the B&B's Champagne room and were met with turn of the century (well, I guess it would be two "turns" ago now) decor (read: "Western Chic" meets Classy French) with a screened patio and hot tub ready for our use.

With a quick "freshen up" we headed to the restaurant (a few paces from our room) outfitted with a beautiful wood crafted bar backed by a two story wine rack. Diners overlooking a vista of East Texas foliage and water and are backed by the two story wine rack. There are also private dining rooms available for groups.

A meal of grilled Oysters Rockefeller (fresh and stuffed with bacon, fresh spinach, and light bread crumbs), Filets (cooked to "melt in your mouth" perfection) sautéed mushrooms and fresh green beans were complemented by a glass of Kiepersol's 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon. The meal was well prepared, presented and served by watchful, courteous, and professional wait staff. There was also dessert, too excellent to share, you have to try it yourself. Hint: it involves chocolate, lots of chocolate!

After dinner a new experience awaited us at "Bushmans', another Kiepersol property, a live music entertainment venue equipped with its own recording studio located just a few short miles away. Linda Davis (grammy award winner) was the headliner for a first time "Grand Old Opry Style" evening. Several different acts performed with a great house band leading up to Linda's lively and fun filled performance followed by an "Opryland Finale" of all performers signing together. Sound quality was excellent, large family friendly tables, drinks and snacks are available, an enjoyable evening. The performers took a break and came out and "mixed it up" with the patrons signing autographs or just sharing stories then back on stage to perform music to dance to.

A short drive back to the Restaurant where we enjoyed coffee at the bar then off to our room. Great bed, really good night's sleep under the covers after another glass of wine at our white cloth draped table in the private screened patio. Romantic with nice attention to detail!

The next morning, one of the best kept secrets of the whole Kiepersol B& B experience is the second "B": Eggs Benedict "Kiepersol Style" served over potatoes and steak hash! Other choices are available but don't miss this one!

A final bonus was the opportunity to meet the owner and our prior evenings entertainers as they enjoyed breakfast at the bar. Great Wine, Great Food, Great Staff. Great Place!

Room Tip: Have stayed twice. The Champagne room is their best (to us) and the Coastal Room is also neat with a...

I totally loved the ambiance! This was the perfect choice for my second date! Warm and romantic! Two thumbs up the the duck cigars! My grilled salmon was perfect as was the steamed veggies! My date even remarked that his shrimp tasted like it came right out of the Gulf...apparently it was very fresh! Exceptional Service! Definately going back!

When my wife and I thought of keipersol we thought high end. What we got was the exact opposite. The rooms were dusty and smelled Muskie. The A/C In the Paarl room would make loud noise throughout the night which kept us from sleeping well. While taking a shower I was standing in water. The bed was extremely uncomfortable woke up with back pain. I brought this to management and all they did was comp us a bottle of cheap wine. Never again will I stay there!!!!
