It normally has to be pretty hot for me to be tempted to swim outdoors. So the fact that the air temperature was only 57 degrees was not very encouraging even though the sun was shining. The water felt relatively warm so I decided to risk it. And, like they say, it feels warm once you are in. It is very nice to swim in water which isn't salty and doesn't taste of chemicals. Plenty of changing facilities, space for picnics etc. Very glad I came; and swam.

If ever you are withen a hundred or so miles of this oacis in the desert, you had better take the extra time to see this, it is in my book one of the wonders of the world. Bring your swimming suit the water here stays a cool steady temperature year round, millions of gallons of fresh spring water flow out of this enourmous hole in the ground and some brillant military group in the old days formed a giant swimming pool around it with a wading area for smaller children, and multiple height diving boards for the more adventurous. There is small fee for guest and camping available for the Rv type people, many tables are around the park to relax and share that picnic basket with family or friends (no alcoholic beverages in the park). Many individuals use the deeper areas for scuba diving where you can go below and see many fresh water fish species.

Wonderful location. Great natural things to look at especially the cienega and of course all the fish and turtles in the pool itself. Make sure to take plenty of sunblock

It was cold & rainy, not the best swimming weather. But the pool was actually warm enough, we could have gotten in. The water is very clear & you could see little fish all over. Probably very crowded when warm.

The San Solomon Courts or rooms are beautifully built (by the CCC company 1856 in 1935) adobe structures. Our suite, 2 doubles /bedroom, with a kitchen and bathroom also included a back porch and front breezeway; the place was huge. A slight disadvantage on a cold winters night when trying to heat the entire place, but overall a gorgeous place to stay. Rustic, but comfortable.
