“Our New Go-To Bar & Grill”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

This place has been open only for about a month and we've been here three times. Everything is great - service, menu, food, atmosphere. Service is great and not pushy. The menu is varied enough so there's something for everyone, and reasonably priced as well. The food so far has been consistent (good) and unlike other B&G's around, not over-salted. When these folks replaced another restaurant, they did it right. They overhauled the space completely and did a great job. It is very comfortable, not so bar & grill-ish, but casual and laid back just the same. It's also within walking distance of the house. We had lunch there today and there was a waiting list so we sat at the bar. Couldn't ask for better service at the bar. We recommend The Republic Grille in The Woodlands.

“Great Food.....Below Average Service”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

We came here because of the hype. The place has a nice 'feel'....stone, rustic wood decor. There is outdoor sitting but no service because of staffing shortage. OK....I understand. However, the Hostess needs a LOT more training, as does the ENTIRE wait staff. NO ONE IS SMILING or LIKES THEIR JOB. Really?

The customer can see that immediately. The Manager & Owner need to walk around and find out how things are going. Sure, there are bugs to work out with a new restaurant, I get that. But this is BELOW average service in The Woodlands and the competition is high. Our dining experience took 2 1/2 hrs....mainly waiting on the food.

Now the food was GREAT. Very impressed with the presentation and taste. From the unique appetizers the main courses, we were all impressed.
We will give it an aother try and see if the service gets better......I hope for their sake it does.

“We have needed a place like this”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

This place is located in the space formerly occupied by Ace's Chinese and is owned (at least in part) by the man who owns (at least in part) Tailgator's. A facility like this has been sorely needed in this area and everyone I've spoken with about it is pulling for it to be a success. I've been three times and so far, the results have been very favorable. It's a bit more upscale than Tailgator's (but I've always thought their food was very good), but still is very casual. The atmosphere is great and the food good if just a bit more expensive than I had hoped. I suppose that's just a function of the times in which we live. The bar is small jet seems to be well stocked. It will surely be a hit with the locals and that's all they really need!
