“Breakfast”
Reviewed August 8, 2014 via mobile

It was grrrrrreat! No really it was a short list on the menu. You go pick up your own food. The food is really good, what they have to pick from. Not many places to sit. Not many choices for younger children. The atmosphere is a coffee house gathering. It's a great place for couples, I don't necessarily recommend you bring your children here unless they are the type that sit with their hands neatly folded in their laps! Haha.

“Nice experience”
Reviewed July 26, 2014

My wife and I ate a light dinner here and had dessert. It's a nice facility, and the food was very good. Their dessert bar included about 10 flavors of gelato, which was a pleasant surprise. Ordering food can be a bit confusing, since there is a dessert island and a main food island and a bar. Just ask one of the plentiful workers if you have questions.

We stayed in The Woodlands for four days. We ate here three days in a row! Food was amazing! The service was better!!! The only bad side was it was hard to get a table but that's only because everything else was so awesome!!!

“Nice Casual Setting with Good Food”
Reviewed July 5, 2014

The Black Walnut is located off Research Forest in a retail area and can be a bit tricky to find the first time. It is a causal atmosphere where you order and pay at the counter, then pick up your food and take it to your table. They offer a nice selection of salads, sandwiches, pastas and a few other entrees. They also have a breakfast and children's menu. For dessert, they have gelato and sorbet, which were very good. There are tables out on a front patio in addition to the inside seating. Nothing fancy, but good food and good value for a casual meal.

This is my favorite breakfast place in the Woodlands. The service is always good, food is fantastic and atmosphere is neat. Perfect for a ladies brunch, business meeting, date or special occasion. Great salads, burgers, pasta and breakfast items. The French toast is amazing!!!
