“Love this place!”

This is where we go for really good Italian food. Family owned and run, it never disappoints us. We've taken several friends who now eat there regularly too. The Sicilian chicken is awesome!

“Lovely Italian Restaraunt”
Reviewed January 22, 2012

I am always looking for a new place to try out and came across La Trattoria Tuscano in the Woodlands, TX. I had the Veal Picatta, it was seasoned masterfully! Excellent portions and a very warm, inviting atmosphere. It was a was rather pricey for the main courses, but it was well worth it! The calamari appetizer was just as wonderful! This place is definitely great for a romantic evening out, I had a lovely time and will be back!

“it was very good BUT”
Reviewed December 2, 2011

there was a lot of small pieces of shell in my cavellini diavolo.

we started out with two of the sicilian platters - the marinara sauce was very good as were the calamari - fresh
the spinach artichoke dip was tasty
the fried cheese was the only problem - they were frozen cheese sticks and not fresh made!!!

i had the capellini dish, my wife had mussels/linguini, my kids had 3 pizzas. all the mussel dishes had bits of shell which was worse than getting sand in your food - you are eating this delicious food and CRUNCH - shell. The pizza pepperoni and pizza margherita were fresh and delicious. my son in law go the the margherita with prosciutto (tasted like bacon). the italian bread was fresh and delicious. we really enjoy all the variations of olive oil that you get at italian restaurants. at la trattoria they give you olivo and balsamic - its a very tiny portion but it was good. the service was top notch and waitstaff did a great job.

“Absolute Rubbish--given up after several visits.”
Reviewed November 15, 2011

Pasta is tasteless...meat is always poor quality...shrimp always rubbery...fresh catch of the day tastes like it was caught 13 days ago in lake conroe. The salad is bland with an uninspired house dressing (feels like a bad cut & paste of olive garden). The service is friendly but slow. The booth seating is unpractical...regular table and chair is the simple and better choice at this place. Though, I would recommend a different restaurant altogether.

“what's in the name?”
Reviewed October 20, 2011

A lot. When you call a restaurant La Trattoria Tuscano [instead of the correct version ,Toscana] I have much trepidation of how the details of this restaurant’s cooking process have been achieved. But I went there any way and I was not wrong. If you like your pasta to the brim, if you like mundane dishes that you will find in every chain restaurant, this is the place to go. There is not one scintilla of creativity or originality and I am not talking about authenticity as that is another subject. If you are a foodie this is not the right place but if you have a chain Italian restaurant, taste profile you might enjoy this restaurant. The server's smile comes alive only when the check is presented. The menu features dinner entrees under the title Pranzo [which means Lunch in Italian] go figure. Do they not have a computer to check these words against the Italian dictionary? There are 8 mis-spells. Not for us!
