“Great place to stop with a family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

I've got nothing but positive things to say about this place. It was a great stop off 35 on the way to San Antonio. The staff was friendly on check in - with the right info given on parking and navigating the lot. The room was well appointed - as with most Residence Inns its got a functional kitchen with a real fridge and space to spread out with the kids on the sofa bed. Fortunately unlike many Residence Inns this one has King Size beds as a standard. Breakfast was great - with the added touch of a homemade cheese biscuit and most importantly the cereal selection had some gluten free options unlike my next stop. Oh and it was a good value too.

My wife & I were in the Temple & Waco area to attend a college football game and the 100th birthday of a close family friend. Because I got a late start, I was unable to get a reservation in Waco due to the football game. Temple was a good choice as it is only about 35 miles south of Waco on I-35. I tried another hotel in Temple, one that we had stayed at in late September 2012. Because we were getting close to the Thanksgiving weekend, the hotel had increased their room rates by about 50% from what we paid in September! They explained that even though it was for Saturday, Nov 17, it was within a week of Thanksgiving and that is what their holiday rates were!

I decided to look and see what else was available in Temple. I found the Residence Inn by Marriott. It was right on I-35 and was actually a little more convenient. Their room rate was about $50 less than the one we stayed at in September. The rooms were immaculate, large, and very comfortable. The property is very well maintained and looked great. A breakfast buffet was included in the room rate and it was very good.

Everything considered, the Residence Inn will be my choice for a hotel to stay with on our next trip to the Temple/Waco area.

Room Tip: We were in room 301 and it was great.

It was not an easy off of I35, but it was a great stay. The room was well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was efficient and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best breakfast bars that I have had in a long time. I would certainly stay here again.

Stayed 2 nights to attend a wedding in Belton. Nice size room and great hot breakfast. It is a dog friendly hotel. Show dogs the weekend we were there. So some barking and training going on. The price was higher on the weekend. So book early online. Its a bit tricky on and off I35 but I learned after a few missed exits.

This was a good place to stay while on a business trip and I would stay again.

The good:
It was clean and and the room had everything you would need for a longer term stay. I liked the breakfast options and the the free popcorn in the room. The staff was nice and the place was well kept.

The bad:
The only had 4 downfalls: the couch wasn't very comfortable and was so worn out that you would sink way down. It didn't look bad but wasn't something I wanted to sit on for long. The ac/heat was pretty loud and would either make the room really hot or really cold. The tv had some channels with poor reception and finally the worst issue was the wireless internet, it was unbearably slow and should be much better in a place that many business travelers would use.

I would probably stay there again and hope the internet access is improved, but if it wasn't I would probably not stay there again because this is an important aspect for me.

We have been travelling through Canada and US for the last 3 months and this place tops it all. For the price of $117, we got a lovely spacious king suite with full kitchen. The hotel website said that a hot breakfast buffet is included. So, we were pleasantly surprised that a hot dinner and wine are included as well. We really enjoyed the spaghetti with meat balls and salad. Dessert was 2 kinds of cupcakes. There were a white and a red wine along with various cold beverages and coffee/tea. We spoke with the chef to thank him for his delicious cooking. Apparently complimentary dinner is offered from Mondays to Fridays.

Stayed here 5 nights for business. This hotel is exactly what you expect for Residence Inn. No more, no less.

Rooms are large and decently appointed. Hotel was well cleaned. Pool, small fitness room, coin laundry, basketball court.

Free breakfast and happy hour dinner. Not spectacular but very serviceable - as with the rooms, exactly what you expect.

Staff was personal and professional.

Location - right off I-35. 1 restaurant (Mexican next door) but otherwise nothing in walking distance). Despite proximity to Interstate, no noise issues inside hotel. Location is unremarkable, but exactly what you expect for interstate exit hotel chain.

I'll stay here again next time I'm on the area.
