“Locally Sourced (when possible) Fresh Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2014

I stopped here around lunch time, and the restaurant was crowded. There was a waiting list for a table, so when the hostess offered counter seating, I took it. There are the menu offerings as well as seasonal offerings listed on a chalkboard. It was difficult to make a decision. I wanted breakfast which is served until 3 pm. I got the crab cake benedict which is 2 crab cakes layered with baby spinach and poached eggs topped with hollandaise sauce. It is served with a side of crispy cubed potatoes. Everything was cooked to perfection. Service was quick. I can't wait to go back for another meal.

“Fabulous fresh food!!!”

Absolutely love this café! Wonderful menu that changes according to season and what is available locally. Breakfast is fantastic and they also have bread and pastries for purchase!

“A Pleasant Dining Experience!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2014

The outside of the restaurant is deceptive....looks like an old chain restaurant. However, inside one finds trained chefs that prepare the meals. We had an excellent server! The soup of the day was an Italian sausage with a specialty tomato, which was very tasty. The buttermilk fried chicken was a little dry - overcooked a bit. The shrimp and grits was not what we expected, but had a nice taste. It was not the average café, so we enjoyed our meal!

“Great Food & Gluten Free Bread!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2014

We went to Megg's for a Sunday breakfast. Service was a bit slow getting to us, but the food was good enough to overlook this.
I had a Ham & Swiss Omelet and Gluten Free toast - my husband had the "Winter" Omelet - with sausage, mozzarella, broccoli, onions, kale and some things I forgot...& he had wheat toast. The omelets were both served with Potatoes. The coffee was really good, we both love good strong coffee, and our omelets were also very good. I especially enjoyed the Gluten Free toast, as I haven't been able to have toast in many months, and I appreciate that Gluten Free is an option.
Service was good after the first little issue, and it was a very enjoyable breakfast. We would definitely return!

“Mixed bag, but great for breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2014

Megg's can be pricey, but the food is well prepared and the atmosphere is good. I especially like breakfast... and if the line is long on the weekend, just grab a cinnamon roll or muffin from the bakery side and take it home... you can sit down another day and enjoy the gourmet dinners another day
