This restaurant has such amazing reviews that I reserved a table for my husband's birthday. We were a group of six who had been having fantastic food and wine in Fredericksburg as part of a getaway weekend--this was supposed to be the grand finale.

What a disappointment. The manor itself and surroundings are stunning, but the decor is in desperate need of a refresh--not classic, just plain dated. The food was decidedly mediocre--tough game hen with overly-sweet sauce, three out of three tenderloin "upgrades" to the fixed price menu were either very under or very overcooked (one of which was sent back to the kitchen and still hadn't reappeared by the time we were all finished with our meals). The dessert was fine. Our server apologized and comped the $14 upgrade for the meal that never got eaten--on a $550 tab that included full gratuity,

Maybe we caught them on an off night, but I wouldn't plan a special evening around this place.

The Rose Hill Manor is a top of the line inn and we had dinner there Saturday evening. Four courses which were all first rate. This is a special occasion eatery and expensive but the mood and ambiance are fantastic! The owner, Patty, is a wonderful host and the staff was world-class. Perhaps the best filet I have ever eaten!

Server was attentive, small dining area, romantic. Steak was excellent. Bread was piping hot, fresh and loved the Rosemary. Great views.

We returned to Rose Hill Manor for my husband's birthday, and it was even better than before (which is saying a lot)! Their new chef, Asa, is one of the very best in this whole area and we absolutely love his food. Tonight's dinner was one of the finest meals we've ever eaten... sooooo delicious. Corn soup with scallop, filet of rib eye with a smoked tomato and peppercorn glaze, white truffle pureed potatoes, braised/glazed carrots/parsnips, and a peach cobbler with cinnamon ice cream. Stupendous!

This was a great idea - lots of wineries for tasting in one location. Thank you Rose Hill Manor for hosting this, and allowing us to save gas!
