“Overflowing Quaint”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2013

A friend invited me for afternoon tea (at the Teahouse). I expected a few little converted shops, but was blown away by the number and variety of quaint old homes that have been remodeled and filled with every imaginable craft. Lots of non-chain restaurants and pubs. Many spill into the street. Order ahead for full English Tea at the Teahouse. Slow service, but worth the wait. We were there during a very busy Christmas weekend, but I look forward to a more leisurely visit next time. A great place to meet the girlfriends for lunch.

“Quaint, very friendly town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2013

It was pouring with rain the day we went to,Old Town Spring however every store that we ventured into greeted us warmly. The German store sold some traditional Christmas decorations that we had been searching all of America for. The proprietor and his assistant at the Amish store were delightful and we spent a considerable amount of time just talking to them. The Jail House Saloon is a must to see, the bar staff were amazed that an Aussie couple had visited their establishment and we were introduced to everyone who entered the bar. A totally delightful experience, in, as they say, true Texan hospitality! A must do and see!

Great place to walk around and see the little shops. A great candy store and metal shop. I could use a few more nice restaurants. Check out the specialty Hot Sauce Shop,

“Not a lot of parking”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

We were there during Christmas, which makes it a very popular time to be there, but parking is not easy, and there is a lot of "stuff" you have to pick through. Some shops are great. Many are not a lot better than a flee market.

“Fun place, especially at Christmas!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2012

Before going make sure of the opening days/hours. When I was there many of the stores were closed, but those that were open were filled with all kinds of interesting and different items. Food was great - very important after shopping!
