Never had Sauerkraut Balls before; they were tasty.
Had the Chicken & Dumplings special and it was very good. Lots of chicken and you get your choice of two sides. Kind of down-home cooking: Don't worry about the calories; just enjoy the food.

Popular local hangout for lunch that we visited on a Saturday. Casual historical atmosphere. We were seated quickly, and the small menu was already on our table. We decided on the catfish Po boys and we're not disappointed. Soft chewy rolls, crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes and a large, perfectly cooked portion of fresh fried fish. It doesn't get any better, and reasonably priced at $6.99. We did not opt for fries or any other extras and had plenty to eat. A definite thumbs up!

Great food, love the chicken fried steak. Great Texas ambiance! Fun for the entire family. I've eaten hear many times, neat historic building. They used to have live music on weekends which was good entertainment, not sure if they still do...

Went with our son, daughter-in-law and grandson (age 20 mo.) in the rain. Service was friendly, efficient, and fast. The fried zucchini was just wonderful and we understand the sausage and kraut balls are good, too. I had the chicken quesadilla and it was really wonderful! Not boiled shredded chicken, but more like chunks of grilled, tender, nicely seasoned chicken with cheese melted on the tortilla. The two guys had the bratwurst with kraut sandwich, none of which was left on either plate. Baby and Mom had burger and Baby ate his first 1/2 burger! All in all this was a wonderful place with friendly people. The whole area is so neat!!
