Description: In 1941, Travis Dickey opened the first Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Dallas, Texas. Brothers Roland Dickey and T.D. Dickey, Jr. Took over the business in 1967, continuing their father's legacy of quality, hickory-smoked signature meats. Today, every location smokes all of their meats on-site at the restaurant the same way it was done in 1941. Dickey's serves up beef brisket, pulled pork, ham, polish sausage, turkey breast and chicken, with an extensive array of home-style sides from jalapeno beans to macaroni and cheese. Buttery rolls are served with every meal along with the complimentary ice cream and dill pickles. And just like always, kids eat free on Sunday.

Good food and a great atmosphere. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The food is made right fresh, right there.

Had the chicken bbq sandwich. Ehhh. Nothing special at all. Waited forever for it. Won't go back. Good chicken bbq should be smoked and flavorful, not dry and tasteless.

My mom, daughter and I stopped in to try it and we were very impressed. I am a vegetarian but wanted some onion rings and they have these onion ranglers that were awesome. My daughter is a very pick eater and said the chopped beef potatoe was meaty and not full of fat. My mom enjoyed her beef sandwich as well.
