“Great Find at SPI”
Reviewed February 9, 2010

This place has been open for ten years, but after coming to SPI our friends and my wife and just discovered the place. We only had lunch there, but if that's any indication, dinner will be just as delicious! Three of us had the Flounder luncheon special, which featured the fish lightly breaded and pan grilled with a side of spaghetti with an excellent marinara sauce. The fish was cooked to perfection and the spaghetti sauce is home made. The lunch (there are four specials served which include Lasagna, chicken or pork chop as the other choices) with a side of either salad or home made minestrone soup. The ministrone is excellent and it especially tasted great on a cold, blustery day.
The place is family owned and you get attention from one of the owners. We will be returning for another lunch as well as dinner during our stay.
Paulino's is located at 4600 Padre Blvd, on the NE corner of Padre and Saturn.

“A pleasant surprise”
Reviewed August 21, 2009

We were pleasantly surprised with our meal at Paulino's. The restaurant had a good review on Tripadvisor and so we decided to give it a try for dinner. Pulling up in the parking lot there not alot of cars which was unusual during our one week stay on South Padre. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was also suspect. The place is very plain inside with "plastic" the decor choice. However the food and service was very good. The older female server seemed Italian (always a good sign) and was pleasant and helpful. Most importantly the food was very good. My wife and grand daugher shared a small pizza as an appetizer. My wife though it was as good as the pizza she had had in Italy. My pasta was not overcooked a typical problem with pasta here in the US. All in all a really good meal at a family friendly price.

My sister highly recommended this place from a previous visit, and we all loved it, including two teen boys. A little on the expensive side but great food, great service and great atmosphere. A wonderful treat.

“Great Italian!”
Reviewed October 13, 2008

This is a quaint little restaurant you visit for the food, not the atmosphere. We loved it. The veal parmigiana is fabulous as is the spaghetti. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to be sure you are pleased with your food and service. It's only open for dinner, and it's never crowded. Try it, and I'm sure you'll be as delighted as we were.
