Description: Established in 1999, Grapevine Café’s original owners created a simple restaurant offering breakfast and lunch favorites from traditional Mexican and American recipes. Under new ownership since 2006, the Grapevine Café has grown considerably in concurrence with the beautiful and surrounding city of South Padre Island, Texas. In many ways, we are still that casual eatery that serves delicious, simple and affordable food. Today, our menu boasts a greater variety of choices. We have added healthier menu items that are vegetarian and gluten free. We also offer a full line of gourmet, freshly ground coffee drinks and teas from our popular espresso bar. We take great pride in serving food that is made in-house, fresh and daily from proprietary, authentic recipes.

We tried this restaurant last year and were disappointed. To be fair we thought we'd stop in again on this trip and see if last year was just one of those days.
NOTHING has changed. Unfriendly staff, too strong coffee, so-so breakfast.

We were really hoping for a better experience.
There are too many good restaurants on this island. Next year we'll just skip this one.

“MMM MMM MMM!”

Had lunch here over spring break and it was exactly what I needed! Hopie was our great server and always checked up on us to make sure we had everything we needed and asked for. I had the omelet with spinach and a side of fruit. Everything came out fresh and speedy. . I wish they were open in the evenings.

This one came highly recommended but found several others on the island and in Port Isabel that were much better. Food was average at best, atmosphere was cold.

“Good food and great service.”

This cafe had good food and great service. Our server Judith was attentive. We were having challenging time finding food that wasn't swimming in grease in South Padre. A plus

“Diner food with friendly but very slow service.”

Came in while on the island birding. Nachos and chicken fried steak and breasts good, but crab enchiladas waaay overcooked. Took almost 30 minutes for our food to arrive.
