Description: Established in 1999, Grapevine Café’s original owners created a simple restaurant offering breakfast and lunch favorites from traditional Mexican and American recipes. Under new ownership since 2006, the Grapevine Café has grown considerably in concurrence with the beautiful and surrounding city of South Padre Island, Texas. In many ways, we are still that casual eatery that serves delicious, simple and affordable food. Today, our menu boasts a greater variety of choices. We have added healthier menu items that are vegetarian and gluten free. We also offer a full line of gourmet, freshly ground coffee drinks and teas from our popular espresso bar. We take great pride in serving food that is made in-house, fresh and daily from proprietary, authentic recipes.

“Great food, great service, great owner!”

Our family had a great breakfast at Grapevine Cafe. If you are looking for authentic South Texas Mexican breakfast foods (big delicious tacos, migas, etc), Grapevine has you covered! If you are looking for a good American breakfast (French toast, Omelets, cinnamon rolls), Grapevine Cafe has you covered! If you are a looking for a fun kid's breakfast, as well as a kid friendly atmosphere, Grapevine Cafe has you covered!

We were really impressed with the quality and great taste of the food. In addition, the owner Doug was extremely nice. He is a local and knows his stuff about the island and Rio Grande Valley in general. Say hi to him while you are there!

We will be back for a visit next time we are on the island!

“Great Place for breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012

Everything was great except for the coffee. And since I don't drink coffee I thought it was wonderful. But my husband said the coffee wasn't so good. I had the eggs Florentine. They were very well prepared. My husband had a western omelet and our friends had French Toast and Eggs Benedict. They were having a special because of the Women's Walk and had pink covers for the coffee and everyone was dress in pink. The prices were as expected in a resort but no so high that you were too broke to eat any where else all day.
We were in town for the Sand Castles that managed to survive even though it rained and the wind was blowing pretty hard. The Grapevine Cafe is in a good location on Padre Island its right on the main drag. But go early to eat because it is very popular and later in the day it gets very crowded. The place is clean and very family friendly.

“Good Food & Good Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2012

My husband and I had a very nice breakfast experience here. The coffee and food were both very good and well served. Bea, our waitress was attentive and cheerful. My husband is very picky and he had no complaints- we will be having breakfast there again!

My wife and I ate here for the first time, and it was really good. We love breakfast cafes and this one didn't disappoint. Dora was very friendly and had some good recommendations. I highly suggest eating here for breakfast.
