Went on the 1.5 hr dolphin watch. Started by leaving 15 minutes late - "we're waiting for one more family". Of course, they got us back in on time, so we lost 15 minutes. Saw no dolphins. Just motored back and forth looking. I know you can't control nature, but for the price I assumed that this would be more or less a guaranteed chance to see dolphins. No tour narration, no music, etc.

Very helpful staff...organized, bought my tickets online and saved $5 per ticket. It was a nice boat ride and we stayed in the water snorkeling for over an hour...and then rode back. Total 3 hours, not bad for $20. The fish weren't completely amazing but the snorkeling instructor was great - had loads of information - was fun! We had a great time and I would recommend this trip to anyone.

We signed up for the Aquadog tour one day prior and was told that eleven people were now on the tour. We gave them our credit card #. We showed up at 8:45am for the 9am tour. At 9:15 we had to go looking for a staff member to find out what was going on since we were still waiting to go out on the tour. We were told that they were waiting on the other 7 people to show up. By 9:30, we had to go looking AGAIN for a staff member. Now we were told that the tour was not going out since it was only us four. So, for doing nothing, they could make $175. We barely got an 'I'm sorry' out of them and a refund. They showed us the worst customer service. We went to Sonny's Beach Rentals and loved it!!!

We did the dolphin cruise, which was nice and worth the money.
On the next day, we did the Aquadog cruise which was noisy, then brought us to a disgusting, dirty, littered beach to collect shells and look at junk on the beach.

The staff was very friendly and I would recommend the dolphin cruise but not the aquadog cruise.

We went on the Ecotour Dolphin Watch (supposed to be 2 hours long) yesterday afternoon. I chose Breakaway because they are the ones that I had heard the most about (obviously they market the most - which is ultimately what we are paying for). There are places that are cheaper than them - some of which I have never found on the internet.

Anyway, it was supposed to be from 1:30 - 3:30. They started boarding the boat at 1:30 or maybe a few minutes after. Of course, then they had to stop every group and take a picture (to get more money out of you). So once we got out of the harbor it was about 1:45.

We then immediately saw dolphins and lots of them which was really neat. We got some great pictures! That part was awesome! But there were other dolphin watch boats out there so it is not as if this is a special place Breakaway goes to only.

Then we ended up turning around and they said they were going to drop the net and drag it for 15 or 20 minutes for the presentation and for us just to talk among ourselves for that amount of time. So then we just sat there while they did this.

When they brought the net up, they got what they wanted for their presentation but then they let a couple of fish (and I don't know what else) just lay on the ground there to die - without throwing them back in or anything.

Then we had to sit there a while longer because they did the presentation for the people that were already on the first level of the boat and then they had to all go to the top while they did the presentation for those of us who were on the top level.

We went back to the harbor and got off the boat and looked at the pictures that they had taken (which they were trying to sell for an additional $6) and were back in our car by 3:24, So technically it was not a two hour trip.

We had coupons for $3 off each adult so we ended up paying $80. They would not let you bring your own drinks so you had to buy theirs, it was incredibly boring and not very well organized (i.e. why weren't they dragging the net while we were looking at dolpins instead of making us just sit there and wait?) and we all four got bored and couldn't wait for it to be over with. Plus I definitely did not like that they just let those fish and whatever else I didn't see to die for no reason.

We went on a Dolphin Watch in Port Aransas last summer which we thoroughly enjoyed, so it's not as though I thought the dolphin watch itself was boring, I just felt like this one with Breakaway Cruises was nowhere near worth the amount of money.
