Description: About Us Dirty Al’s has been in operation since 1986 and has always provided the freshest seafood to thousands of visitors from all over the world. As a family owned and operated business, we have always taken great pride in taking care of each customer and providing them with a unique experience that they can only get from eating at Dirty Al’s. Dirty Al promises every customer that they will only be served the absolute freshest seafood caught in the wild off the Gulf of Mexico. A Father and his Sons Make a Great Team! Alfonso Salazar, better known as “Dirty Al” originally started shrimping as a young man with his father and 6 brothers. In 2003, he and his youngest son, Cameron, who graduated from Culinary School, transformed his bait stand into a restaurant where together they have been known for having “The World’s Best Fried Shrimp”! In 2005, his other two sons returned home to help grow the business. To this day, they now own 6 restaurants on beautiful South Padre Island and continue to bring only the “best” Gulf Seafood to each customer’s table.

Atmosphere is not for the faint hearted. The place is a dive, bathrooms are disgraceful and open into the dining room. Tables and chairs are mis-matched. Come as you are gets pushed to the limit by some of the patrons.
The food is a different story. The New Orlean's Style Peel & Eat Shrimp are fantastic! The fried shrimp are curnchy and light and are delicious too! The food must overcome the atmosphere because the place is full during dinner, even in the off season.
If you can stomach the atmosphere I recommend the food.

Very nice restaurant. It's like a hole in the wall place and the food was excellent. The biggest shrimp I have seen and the New Orlean's boiled shrimp the best I have had in a long time and I love shrimp. Very casual place nothing fancy just good cooking.

The food was great, service was great and the shrimp were to die for. We bought the seasoning mix from them and is going to try out. Hope it tastes as good as theirs.

Daddy's is so much better than the other. Food, service, and atmosphere is better. Our first choice is Sea Ranch--recommended by a local boat captain and he was right!!! They serve huge portions in an awesome unstuffy atmosphere---it's for everyone.

Dislike some of the crude humor on the tee-shirts of servers at Daddy's. We save Sea Ranch for special occasions as it is a bit pricey.

The food was ok..... We didn't care for the restroom opening into the dining room. Wasn't very clean. Don't think it is a place we will return to. We found Daddy's to be clean and more reasonably priced and larger portions. The waiter kept on trying to tell us how much more reasonable the prices are at Dirty Al's. It was busy and seemed to stay that way most of the time.......
