Description: About Us Dirty Al’s has been in operation since 1986 and has always provided the freshest seafood to thousands of visitors from all over the world. As a family owned and operated business, we have always taken great pride in taking care of each customer and providing them with a unique experience that they can only get from eating at Dirty Al’s. Dirty Al promises every customer that they will only be served the absolute freshest seafood caught in the wild off the Gulf of Mexico. A Father and his Sons Make a Great Team! Alfonso Salazar, better known as “Dirty Al” originally started shrimping as a young man with his father and 6 brothers. In 2003, he and his youngest son, Cameron, who graduated from Culinary School, transformed his bait stand into a restaurant where together they have been known for having “The World’s Best Fried Shrimp”! In 2005, his other two sons returned home to help grow the business. To this day, they now own 6 restaurants on beautiful South Padre Island and continue to bring only the “best” Gulf Seafood to each customer’s table.

Great fresh local gulf shrimp. Fish market is inside the restaurant. Good place for quick bite after boating or fishing. VERY noisy, very basic decor. If you want a quieter dining experience go to their other restaurant, Pelican Station, which is over the bridge, for the same great shrimp and a great view of the Bay.

Dirty Al's has what I think is the best shrimp. Unfortunately that's all I've eaten there so I can't rate anything else. The place has been crowded every time we have been there.

The fried sea food from crab fingers to snapper throats just can't be beat! And seeing the shock of first-timers' faces when they read the slogans on the wait staff shirts is always fun!

From the outside dirty al's does not look like much but after dining there I would definitely go back. I ate the blackened calamari which is addictive and the fried shrimp which they claim is the best and I would say its one of the best I had. Service was outstanding.

Dirty Al's special batter on his fresh fan-tailed shrimp--amazing! Service super even though the place was packed. It's always packed year'round because it's the best in the world.
