Description: About Us Dirty Al’s has been in operation since 1986 and has always provided the freshest seafood to thousands of visitors from all over the world. As a family owned and operated business, we have always taken great pride in taking care of each customer and providing them with a unique experience that they can only get from eating at Dirty Al’s. Dirty Al promises every customer that they will only be served the absolute freshest seafood caught in the wild off the Gulf of Mexico. A Father and his Sons Make a Great Team! Alfonso Salazar, better known as “Dirty Al” originally started shrimping as a young man with his father and 6 brothers. In 2003, he and his youngest son, Cameron, who graduated from Culinary School, transformed his bait stand into a restaurant where together they have been known for having “The World’s Best Fried Shrimp”! In 2005, his other two sons returned home to help grow the business. To this day, they now own 6 restaurants on beautiful South Padre Island and continue to bring only the “best” Gulf Seafood to each customer’s table.

“Relaxing and fun”
Reviewed January 23, 2014 via mobile

We have traveling through southern Texas and was about to give up finding a good restaurant, then we found this restaurant.
When we arrived to the island we stopped at the info center and the host was helpful in suggesting four different restaurants, that he had enjoyed.
It's laid back with a friendly atmoshphere.
The food was great, esp the large shrimp. I would definitely go again.

“Enjoyable”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

If you’re not concerned about fancy and if you enjoy the ‘local eating spot’ décor then this is a great place. Dirty Al’s has a local feel to it and good food. It’s a relaxing atmosphere, reasonable prices, and the service is good. We arrived at a very busy time for the restaurant and I was surprised how soon we received our food. It wasn’t fast but it was far from slow. The dining area is simple, yet clean, and the dining area has a descent view of the water. We will definitely eat there again.

“Great po-boy lunch”
Reviewed January 12, 2014 via mobile

Husband and I walked by after long walk on beach, 5 miles, to check on take home shrimp. Looked at menu, got hungry, and stayed for a fabulous combo po-boy. Fries were fantastic also and great, fun local atmosphere. Interesting folks working there as well as eating.

“New Year's Day lunch!”
Reviewed January 6, 2014 via mobile

We had great seafood platter, everything is good. My only reason for not giving the 5 stars is because I wanted soup on the cold day and they don't carry soups. Just FYI..,other than that they're really good.

“Just okay”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

I had the grilled shrimp, my husband had grilled fish. We opted for the salad instead of fries. The salad was only lettuce with a tomato slice. Not great, not bad......
