Description: About Us Dirty Al’s has been in operation since 1986 and has always provided the freshest seafood to thousands of visitors from all over the world. As a family owned and operated business, we have always taken great pride in taking care of each customer and providing them with a unique experience that they can only get from eating at Dirty Al’s. Dirty Al promises every customer that they will only be served the absolute freshest seafood caught in the wild off the Gulf of Mexico. A Father and his Sons Make a Great Team! Alfonso Salazar, better known as “Dirty Al” originally started shrimping as a young man with his father and 6 brothers. In 2003, he and his youngest son, Cameron, who graduated from Culinary School, transformed his bait stand into a restaurant where together they have been known for having “The World’s Best Fried Shrimp”! In 2005, his other two sons returned home to help grow the business. To this day, they now own 6 restaurants on beautiful South Padre Island and continue to bring only the “best” Gulf Seafood to each customer’s table.

“Great po-boy lunch”
Reviewed January 12, 2014 via mobile

Husband and I walked by after long walk on beach, 5 miles, to check on take home shrimp. Looked at menu, got hungry, and stayed for a fabulous combo po-boy. Fries were fantastic also and great, fun local atmosphere. Interesting folks working there as well as eating.

“New Year's Day lunch!”
Reviewed January 6, 2014 via mobile

We had great seafood platter, everything is good. My only reason for not giving the 5 stars is because I wanted soup on the cold day and they don't carry soups. Just FYI..,other than that they're really good.

“Just okay”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

I had the grilled shrimp, my husband had grilled fish. We opted for the salad instead of fries. The salad was only lettuce with a tomato slice. Not great, not bad......

“Not to bad.”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

The seafood was Okay, order the platter for 4 ppl and had enough food but the service was horrible. I don't know if we just arrived at closing time (it was only 7pm on a Saturday Night) but the service was very bad. Don't order the margaritas as they are horrible and ain't worthy the money.

“Excellent fried seafood”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

We visited Dirty Al's twice and we were very impressed. The location is at the southernmost tip of South Padre; the wait staff was very friendly and the food was quite good. The fries were perhaps the best ever!

We would recommend this spot without reservation.
